In Leviticus, anyone committing adultery was killed immediately to wipe out all wickedness. In Lev. 21:7, it is specifically forbidden for a priest to marry a divorced woman... must marry a virgin from his own tribe; his children could not be mixed.

Isaiah 57:3-14 is about spiritual adultery

I Cor. 6:9 through 7:17 fully explains sexual purity and the purpose of it -- using your body for the purpose it was created -- as a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit -- a vessel consecrated to God.

Heb. 13:4 - Says to honor your marriage and its vows and to be pure and warns that God will punish all who are immoral or who commit adultery.

Jas. 4:4 - To love evil pleasures of this world is to commit adultery against God.

Jas. 4:7 - The path back to God once you realize you are in a position not pleasing to God.

Prov. 6:20 - Obey instructions of parents - resist any temptation from prostitutes and adulteresses - no excuse for adultery - only a fool would do such a thing

Hos. 5:3 - Speaks of a Spirit of Adultery

Rom. 7:3 – Okay’s remarriage after death of a spouse. Rom. 7:4 - says you "died" on the cross with Christ. Your "husband" was the Jewish Law. Since you are "dead", you are no longer married to the law - it has no more control over you. Be led by the Spirit of God. Now you are married to Christ. Now you can really serve God -- not just keep a set of rules, but with all of your heart and mind.

Rom. 8:4 - So now we can obey God’s laws instead of our old sinful nature, if we are led by the Spirit of God. Being led by your old nature pleases yourself, but being led by the Spirit of God pleases God.

Ezel 23:45 - Spiritual adultery is idolatry - worshipping other Gods.

Matt. 5:27-28 - Even a look of lust toward a woman is adultery in your heart. Gouge out your eye rather than wind up in hell fire.

Matt. 5:31 - Law of Moses says if anyone wants to be rid of his wife, he can divorce her by merely giving her a letter of dismissal. Verse 32 - But I say that a man who divorces his wife except for fornication causes her to commit adultery if she marries again. And, he who marries her commits adultery.

I Cor. 7:10 - A wife is not to depart from her husband, but even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife.

I Cor. 7:27 - Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be loosed. Are you loosed from a wife? Do not seek a wife. [speaking of the state you are in when salvation comes]

I Cor. 7:29 - The time is short, so from now on, even those that have wives should be as though they had none. He who is unmarried cares for the things of God - how he may please the Lord. But, he who is married cares about the things of the world - how he may please his wife. Verse 35 - and, this is what I say for your own profit - not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper and that you may serve the Lord without distractions.

Matt. 19:8 - Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

Matt 19:9 - And, I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another commits adultery and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.

Matt. 19: 18 - Jesus said, "You shall not commit adultery."

Mark 10:11 - Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. And, if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.

Mark 10:19 - Jesus said "Do not commit adultery."

Luke 16:18 Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery: and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery.

Luke 18:20 - Jesus said "Do not commit adultery."

John 8:3 - Scribes and Pharisees brought Jesus a woman caught in the act of adultery. Her accusers departed when Jesus suggested that the one without sin should cast the first stone. Then He asked where her accusers were. He said, "Has no one condemned you? Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."

John 8:12 - Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life."

John 8:14 - Jesus spoke to the Pharisees - "You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one. And, yet if I do judge, my judgment is true for I am not alone, but I am with the father who sent me."

Rom. 2:22 - Jesus points out the Jews to be just as guilty as the gentiles in keeping the law..."You who say do not commit adultery, do you commit adultery?"

Rom. 13:9 - All the commandments are summed up in this statement: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Vs. 10 - Love does no harm to a neighbor: therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.

Eph. 5:19 - Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissentions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, reveilles - those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS: LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONG-SUFFERING, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, SELF-CONTROL. There is no law against any of these!

James 2:10 - For whoever shall keep the whole law and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. Vs 11 - For he who said "Do not commit adultery also said do not murder." Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. Vs 12 - So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. Vs 13 - For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

II Peter 2: False Teachers having eyes full of adultery

Rev. 2: 21&22 [speaking of Jezebel] "And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And, I will give to each one of you according to your works."
