HIS PATH OF GOLD – DELIVERANCE FROM TORMENT

RESPONSE TO A READER VIA E-MAIL

I have received your e-mail from a friend. You had written him - probably because you read his testimony of being delivered from suicidal, manic depression in 1996. It is a powerful example of just how faithful our God really is and how true are all of His promises.

As I read your e-mail I heard a lot of pain and a lot of fear... not too surprising from all the torment you have received through the years. But I'm here to testify to you that there is hope on the horizon. The turnaround all starts with you changing your mind about what you are going to focus your thinking on and what you are going to declare over yourself.

I want to lay a foundation for those bold statements I just made. First of all, I, too, have experienced very much of what you are describing as extremely tormenting and oppressing thoughts you are having. And how you so vividly describe a battle that is going on within yourself continually.

I would suggest, before you even consider anything else - that you verbalize to Father Himself, the trust you have in Him and the sincere desire you have in your heart to serve Him. You may have thought you'd done this many times before, but let's start off with a clean slate this very day. Also let Him know you have chosen, this day, to RESIST the enemy of your soul [mind, will, emotions] and that you will continue to RESIST all of those kinds of attacks [fear, doubt, distrust].

I'm continually amazed myself, even after all the years of experience with the Lord - just how very much power our own spoken words have over our lives and the things around us. I'm going to ask you to go to a website: http://www.wellnessgoods.com/messages.asp There you are going to find an article by Stace Sharp showing photographic results this scientist has produced by subjecting single water molecules to various sounds. There's a couple of old adages that apply to this: "A picture is worth 1,000 words." and "Untouched photos don't lie." I believe you will be as amazed as I was, when a friend sent me to this website.

With the proof before you, I want to encourage you to retrace your steps, verbally, for the past few weeks and allow Holy Spirit to bring to your remembrance - words that you have spoken over yourself - such as "I'm depressed." "I'm tormented by an evil spirit." "I've gone as far as I can go." "I'm thinking about suicide." "I just want out - I can't take it any longer." You get the idea. Consider "CHANGING YOUR MIND" and turning away from that kind of verbage and begin to speak solutions to your current challenges: "I am set free from all of the torments of my enemy - Satan and his evil spirits - by the shed blood of My Lord, Jesus Christ." "I do not have to listen to the lies of my enemy and I choose not to listen to them." "I have power and authority over all evil spirits." "I have power and authority over Satan himself and all his influences." "I take the authority I have as a believer in My Lord, Jesus Christ, and I command all evil spirits to cease and desist speaking to my mind." "I forbid these evil spirits to gain power and strength from any other sources in any attempt to continue their attack against me."

Then, I encourage you to begin to obey the scripture that promises deliverance if we follow through with our part - RESIST. How do you resist the attacks against your mind?

Please take the time to go with me to PHIL, Chapter 4. In Verse 1, a very important thing is mentioned which is KEY to what I'm encouraging you to do:

1] STAND FAST IN THE LORD. You can't STAND FAST if you are continually WAVERING! Wavering is being double-minded. I hear from you one minute that you believe in the Lord and believe you were saved when you were 14 and how you want to please God and do right... BUT on the other hand I hear how much fear you are experiencing and how you are continually being attacked with disconcerting thoughts sent from an evil spirit. Well, precious sister, which is it? You or me or anyone else in the place you are in right now has got to make a QUALITY DECISION - not based on "FEELING LIKE IT", BUT based on obedience to GOD. Father says that a double-minded man/woman is unstable in ALL his/her ways. So, sounds like the key to becoming stable is:

2] THINK ON GODLY THINGS...Verse 8 of Phil. 4 gets right down to what we should think about..." By choosing to THINK ON THESE THINGS... Look at PHIL. 4:8

^{8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things
are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if
there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

You might say, okay, Sunny, I hear what you're saying, but
let's get specific here. Sure, no problem. When I was where you are
now, Holy Spirit led me to this Chapter and Verse and I read, read, re-read and
re-read this until it was on the inside looking out. But I still didn't
have the revelation of how to apply it... so, I cried out to Father for specific
help in this area. I found myself asking: "What one thing can I
think about that will fulfill all of this verse of scripture? Something
pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, praise-worthy? Well, if you will
ask, you may get a completely different image as your focus, but what I was
given was our Lord being crucified on Golgotha... it was like I would get into
His mind and begin to think as He thought - He was concerned about the two guys
hanging on either side of Him, about his own natural mother and who would take
care of her now that He was returning to His Heavenly Father, about the guys
doing the "deed" - actually driving the nails into his body for the
crucifixion... and He cried out to his Father not to hold this heinous deed to
their account.

As I would persist in continuing to focus on that scene, I
would suddenly realize that a lot of time had passed and I had not been
tormented by the harassing, depressing things that had been coming against me.
As I continued to practice this spiritual exercise - flexing my spiritual
thought muscles on holy things... it would dawn on me that I had not had one
harassing thought in all the time I had been faithful to focus on Jesus on that
cross on Golgotha and the suffering He experienced for my sake.}

3] REJOICE - Choosing to Praise God in ALL situations brings lasting results and also causes you to focus on Him rather than any possible negative things that might be trying to invade you in any way.

4Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice. ⁵Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. ⁷And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

4] DON'T BE ANXIOUS [fear-filled] God promises that He doesn't give us a Spirit of Fear

Phil, Chapter 4

⁶In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Romans 8
¹⁵ For you ⁽¹⁾ have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you ⁽²⁾ have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "⁽³⁾ Abba! Father!"

2 Timothy 1
⁷ For God has not given us a ⁽¹⁾ spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline [sound mind in some translations].

Hebrews 2
¹⁵ and might free those who through ⁽¹⁾ fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.

6] PEACE like a river WILL flood your soul [mind, will, and emotions]

Verse 9 contains a promise for obedience... "the God of PEACE shall be with you." If He is with you, who can be against you?

9The things, which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, these things do: and the God of peace shall be with you

As you continue to RESIST the forces that have been sent to cause you to exercise what you really know - at gut level - WHAT... these tormentors may have been sent by GOD? Well, my sister, whether you've come to grips with the reality yet or not - does not change the TRUTH of the matter! You are called to be an OVERCOMER. How are you ever going to BE and KNOW YOU BE an OVERCOMER if you never have any hurdles to cross - anything to overcome?

You mean that Satan and his imps are just tools in God's hands to cause me to become strong in who I really am - A child of the most-high God - called to live forever with Him and to Rule and Reign in heavenly places right here on earth? Yep, that just what it's all about! Shock you? Well, it sure shocked me when I first heard it. A precious brother from Africa, Dr. Zarubabbel Ebangit, said to me after I'd spent several minutes spouting off about Satan and all I thought I knew about him, "My sister [in his proper British/English accent] you speak much of Satan and of his power, but has the thought ever occurred to you that he is just a 'whipping stick' - an instrument in the hands of our precious, loving Heavenly Father -used to get God's kids in the place of Power and Might that He desires they be?"

Let that roll around inside you for a while.

After you've had time to read this love letter a few times and practice some of the things that your Father is speaking to you through me, get back to me with a progress report. You will not be rejected, reprimanded, or discouraged by Him or by me... let the fear go - it never was part of the real you - and dare to be just who you really are... it's a wonderful life - just follow His yellow brick road [street of gold] - so pure that it reflects the image of the real you - for you and all the world to see!
