THE LOSS OF YOUR FRIEND

WRITTEN TO JESSE FIELDS AT THE DEATH OF HIS

CLOSEST FRIEND IN OHIO

BY: SUNNY ORLY COFFMAN

MARCH 25, 2001

Only a few times in our life can we really say

This is one I can trust, one I can honor as a friend.

We, in our humanness expect that union to last forever and a day,

But sometimes we are forced to face an early end.

The realization of this severing can make us sad.

We can feel cheated by the unexpected parting that comes,

But our Creator will give us peace to know it’s not all bad –

The parting is only temporary between two chums.

The pain is real and not to be forgotten,

But the knowing that a future union is to be…

Will give you hope to not be downtrodden.

Look with joy to the time your friend you will again see.

This life is only a classroom for learning.

The next scene will be in another dimension.

So base your hope on a holy yearning

And believe on another relationship without division.

For this moment, your friendship continues in the Spirit.

He’s now a part of your cloud of holy witnesses in this life.

But a time is coming when you’ll once again sit…

And commune as you used to do without any strife.

Focus your attention now on your God-given vision.

Bring all your thoughts together to accomplish this goal.

Don’t allow anything to bring in division.

Fulfillment of you dream will bring joy to your soul…

Remember – someone is in the wings – cheering you on!
