Christ Is ALL - Chapter 10
Finished Work
I was onced asked if I was still leaning towards the Finished
Work. With a smile I answered: "more than ever." Today, more than ever, do
I see the revelation of the Finished Work of Christ. God is not going to do
something that He has already done and He is Done! "Thus the heavens and thee
earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God
ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all
His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified
it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and
made." Genesis 2:1-3, NKJV. This question that was asked to me caused me to
examine myself to see if I am in the faith. Yes, I am in the faith, but
what is the faith? We are told by Paul to "Watch, stand in the faith, be
brave, be strong." -1 Cor. 16:14. We are to watch and stand in the faith,
to be strong in it. With this came the realization of what has been a part
of my dilemma: I have been leaning towards the Finished Work and I should be
standing in it--living in it as the Reality of my life.
When we first hear the Christ message we must except it by faith. Then,
hopefully, we will come into a realization of that WORD that we have
received. We must stand in faith till that which we hope for is manifested
as our experience. It takes great strength to stand in the faith of a
Finished Work. To see and proclaim that it is finished takes great strengt
while all the while the evils of disparity and hopelessness, and the
wretchedness of the carnal mind, wreck havoc in "this world." But even
though a thousand may fall victim to the lie at one hand, and ten-thousand
at the other, it will not come near the Man who has his Being in Christ.
"The natural man does NOT receive the things of the Spirit of God...nor can
he." Not His love; not His Grace; not His life; not His truth; not His
light; nothing, not even His protection. The human being is rejected in his
Adamic nature and cannot receive the benefits of God; for God is Spirit, and
only the Spiritual Man can receive the things of God. This is why we are
told to "seek first the kingdom of God" and all the things--that the natural
man is seeking for in his self-abilities--will be added to us. We receive
of God by grace, but we must be attuned to the Truth of God in order to
receive His Good. We can only live in what we understand, and the Truth we
understand--realized Truth--is what does the work for us. Truth goes before
us to make the crooked places straight, in this way we live by grace. Out
of absolute confidence and faith in the Finished Work can we live a life
that is above the status quo of "this world".
"'They shall not enter My rest,' although the works were finished from the
foundation of the world." -Heb. 4:3. The Adamic mind will not enter into
the Rest of God...neither can he. No "man, whose breath is in his
nostrils," can receive of the truth of being in Christ. Even the born again
man who still lives out of the carnal mind of Adam cannot live in God's
Rest. The works were finished from the foundation of the world, but man is
a self-for-self being and as long as he is self-centered he will not enter
God's Rest...although the work is finished.
"Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, "So I
declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'" And yet his
work has been finished since the creation of the world." Hebrews 4:3, NIV.
There is a finished work of creation that has been established from the
foundation of the world, and only those who believe will enter into that
Rest. The word foundation means to lay down or "to conceive...the injection
or depositing of the virile semen in the womb", so we can see then that from
the very conception of the world God's purpose was established, His work was
finished. But, now, it is only by going back and seeing how it was finished
that we can enter into His rest.
ABOLISHED DEATH
Jesus Christ, in His finished work of redemption, has abolished death and
brought enlightenment of life and incorruption through the gospel: Through
the message of the cross--the death, burial, and resurrection--Jesus Christ
has brought to our understanding the abolishment of death, and a life of
incorruptibility. "For He saved us and called us with a holy call, not in
accordance with our desserts, but in accordance with His own purpose and the
free grace which He bestowed on us in Christ Jesus before the commencement
of the Ages, but which has now been plainly revealed through the Appearing
of our Saviour, Christ Jesus. He has put an end to death and has brought
Life and Immortality (Incorruption -literal) to light through the Good
News," 2 Timothy 1:9,10, Wey.
1). God has saved us. 2). He has called us with a Holy calling. 3). Not by
our own works. 4). For His own purpose. 5). We were given this gift of
grace before time began. 6). It is now known through the work of Jesus
Christ. 7). Christ has vanquished death. 8). He brought enlightenment: (a)
of Life, and (b) incorruption, (c) through the gospel.
1). To understand what it is to be saved you must look to the Greek word
SOZO. Sozo means to be "safe," to be made whole; to be saved from
suffering, from disease; to be healed, or restored to health. It is a word
of restoration. To me, to be saved is to be restored to the Father in a
right relationship that He has never given up on. A good picture of this
would be the story of the prodigal son. The prodigal was saved when he made
the decision to return to Father's house. The Father was always awaiting
his return, and didn't hold any of his wrong doings against him. The whole
time it was the prodigal's own consciousness that kept him away. Until that
time he was lost in his own sin. He was reaping what he was sowing. Full
salvation came when he was restored to Father's house and was given the ring
and the robe, and his rightful position of a son. "Whosoever calls upon the
name of the Lord will be saved": whoever calls upon the nature of the Christ
and returns to Father's house will be restored to favor. By turning from
our own way and course of life and believing on the Way of Christ Jesus we
are restored to a right relationship to God our Father. We then begin the
journey to Father's house where we are restored to our full Sonship in Him.
2). Now that we have seen that we who have believed have been saved,
restored to a right relationship to God, we can see that He has called us
with a Holy calling. "God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the
fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." 1 Corinthians 1:9, KJV.
We who are saved have been called into "the fellowship of His Son". The
Holy calling that has been bestowed upon us is the high "upward call of God
in Christ Jesus." The "fellowship of His Son," and the "upward call of
God," is none less than a call to grow up INTO HIM in all things. We are
called to ascend into the fullness of the Christ. We are saved and called
for a purpose, and that purpose is that He may bring many son's to glory
through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. There is a call of Sonship,
and that call is one that is being worked out in your life if you are
following on to know the Lord. Sonship is a manifestation of the Son in the
son's--the full and complete adoption into the God family. The expression
of the Christ, the Son of the living God, is to be expressed, and
manifested, in a redeemed people who have "let" the Lord have His way in
their life. A people who have left the self-centered consciousness caused
by the fall of Adam, and have ascended into the Christ-consciousness, which
is Self-for-others. This is Sonship. "For ye have not received a spirit of
servitude, leading back into fear, but ye have received a spirit of Sonship,
whereby we are exclaiming----Abba! Oh Father!" Romans 8:15, Roth.
"But, when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, who came
to be of a woman, who came to be under law,-- That, them who were under law,
he might redeem, that, the Sonship, we might duly receive;--" Galatians
4:4,5, Roth.
"Marking us out beforehand unto Sonship, through Jesus Christ, for himself,
according to the good pleasure of his will," Ephesians 1:5, Roth.
The fellowship of His Son is those who fellowship in what is true of the
Son, those who judge with "righteous judgment" what is true in you and in
me. It is those who are willing to look through the lie of the Adamic
sin-consciousness to the truth of individual being in Christ. What is true
in the heavens must become true in the earth, but in order for this to
happen, someone must be willing to see what is true in Spirit and declare it
in the earth. Someone must take what is Christ and show it unto us through
the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit of God. Speaking the truth in love we
can expose the lie of carnal thinking and help others to see through this
matrix to the Reality of Spirit. This will change the world. If only we
can believe without doubting. If our eye be single our whole body will be
full of light: If we can come to the singleness of Spiritual Truth,
manifestation of that Truth will be expressed as body.
"Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these
He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified." Romans
8:30, NKJV. Called, justified, and glorified; three stages of growing up
into Him in all things. You who have been called into the fellowship of His
Son have also been justified and glorified. This is the True condition of
the inChristed sons of God...can you believe? You can't make yourself
believe any of these incredible truths of God. It takes revelation to see
them, and realization to live in them. The revelation is here, and I
believe the realization is beginning to dawn in consciousness; and I look
forward to the demonstration of Truth, of Reality, in the lives of the Body
of Christ as she is conformed into the image of His Son. This is Sonship,
and this is a Holy calling. One thing we must remember: it is not about
you, it is about Him.
3). Now that we've been saved, and have heard the call to Sonship, we learn
that it is not by our own works it is a gift of Grace. "For by grace you
have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of
God," Ephesians 2:8, NKJV. There is not anything you or I could do to
deserve this wonderful call of God; the only thing we can do is to "believe
in Him whom He sent" and that is all. The only thing God accepts from us is
belief - faith in what He has done. It is His good pleasure to give us the
kingdom, if we can receive it. "Nothing is impossible to him who believes."
Do we believe? Can we receive?
We have grown up under the human belief that "nothing is free" or "it is to
good to be true," or one of the many variations of that. I had a guy call
me on the phone the other day and offer me a "free vacation" that I only had
to pay 30 percent of. In the human world it may be true that nothing is
free, but in the kingdom of God, all is free. That is what Grace is all
about. God, through His Son Christ Jesus, paid all the price that would
ever need to be paid. The benefits of the kingdom of God are now free to
all who will receive of it. "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your
Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32, NKJV. Grace
is one of those "unsearchable riches of Christ" that we have, and may take a
lifetime of contemplation to comprehend. But we are saved "not by works,
least any man should boast." Religion teaches that we must work to be
saved, but in reality we do works because we are saved. We cannot work for
God's favor, that is something that we must accept by grace, and grace
alone. Working for your salvation causes self-righteousness and that is
absolutely rejected by God. But the righteousness that is accepted by God
comes from God to those who will believe in Him whom He sent. Grace is a
free gift of God that can't be worked for, it only comes through faith in
Christ.
Faith without works is dead, but faith by works is just as dead. You cannot
work for God and earn your salvation or any other benefit. All of God's
goodness is free to anyone who will receive of it through faith in Him. Do
not think that you can appease God in any way...you can't...no man can. All
that is of the Adamic race is rejected, and only that which is of Christ is
received. This is why our own works (self-effort) is rejected by God like
Cain's works were rejected. There is only one thing that God requires of
us, and that is to offer to Him what He has given to us. The slain Lamb is
the work that God accepts--the ministry of Jesus Christ.
4). Now that we have found out that we are saved; called with a Holy
calling; not by our works; we can come to the understanding that it is all
for His own purpose. I would like to take you through Ephesians 1:3-12, and
show you all this in there, but I will only hit the highlights and let you
search out the rest for yourself.
As one writer has said: "we must move from a self-centered understanding of
the gospel, to a God-centered understanding." All this that is true of us
in Christ is not for us...it is for Him. God didn't bless you for you, He
blesses you for Himself. God is fulfilling Himself in and through you if we
will "die daily" to personal selfhood and let Him complete the work that He
has began in us.
In Ephesians 1:4 we see the phrase: "He chose us in Him," and He did this
"before the foundation of the world." Now God didn't do this for your sake,
but for His. Look at verse 5, "having predestined us.....TO HIMSELF.....of
HIS WILL." "To the praise of the glory of HIS GRACE" -vs. 6. "IN HIM we
have redemption through HIS blood.....riches of His Grace." -vs. 7.
If we can back away but for a moment and see from His viewpoint, we would
see that all things were created for Him that He might express Himself
throughout a vast infinite universe, a never-ending expression of Himself.
Sure we receive of His goodness, but is not for us, it is all for Him. All
things were made FOR HIM. He is Self-for-others, and in order for Him to be
fulfilled He has to give Himself to others. For Him to be complete He gives
Himself to others. His perfection is in expressing Himself in and through
you that He might fill all in all.
"Having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good
pleasure which HE PURPOSED IN HIMSELF," Eph. 1:9, NKJV. He purposed in
HIMSELF that we would be "to the praise of HIS glory" in His Son Christ
Jesus. What else can I say? It's not about me, it's about Him expressed as
me. God's creation is for Him, but we are the benefactors in this
relationship of ONEness that we have in Him.
If you planed to have a family you didn't have children for the children's
sake. You had children for your sake. You don't say "I hope we have a
boy," or "I hope we have a girl" for the child's sake. You say that for
yourself. But our children benefit from this relationship. Each child is
an individual expression of the parent. And you are an individual
expression of God, through His Son Christ Jesus.
"We are HIS workmanship," we are the work of God. We are His family, we are
His children, we are His sons and daughters; and He will dwell in us, and
walk among us, and He will be our God, and we shall be His people. For we
are His good pleasure and we are created for Him to be fulfilled. "In
Christ we have been given an inheritance, since we were destined for this,
by the One who WORKS OUT ALL HIS PURPOSES ACCORDING TO THE DESIGN OF HIS OWN
WILL." Ephesians 1:11, Phil. The work of creation is for God and he is
working out His plan according to purpose. We just need to believe in and
except this gift of Grace He has given us.
5). We now come to understand that we were given this gift of Grace before
time began. Before anything was God established His eternal covenant of
grace as the means whereby He would conceive the universe in righteousness.
Everything that was created was created through an understanding of God's
eternal purpose, and grace is the animating factor in all of God's
endeavours.
Grace was established before creation and is not an afterthought, for grace
is a part of God's character. Grace was not plan "B" in God's eternal
purpose: Grace was set in motion before the conception of the Ages. God set
forth and established this free gift of grace from the very foundation of
time and space. You could say that God, the Master Builder, put up a
deposit of Grace, before He began His work of creation, that would be the
exact means by which all His plans would be carried out to the infinitesimal
detail. God had fully considered what it would take to bring His plan to
full manifestation, and He had everything in place to bring this about.
"But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and
without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world,
but was manifest in these last times for you" 1 Peter 1:19,20, NKJV. Here
we can see an absolute picture of the Grace of God that was established
before the world was conceived. The Messiah was the sacrificial lamb that
was chosen and foreordained before the foundation of the world. This was
God's deposit of guarantee that what He has purposed He will complete.
God's gift of grace was given before time began. "All who dwell on the
earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of
Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." Revelation 13:8,
NKJV.
From the very foundation the Lamb was slain and this is our surety of Grace
that God will complete the work He began in us from the very beginning of
time itself. "We speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been
hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began." 1 Corinthians
2:7, NIV. The wisdom of God, which is Christ, was established by Grace
before any of the created works of God. "But we speak the mysterious wisdom
of God, which has been till now concealed; which God declared before the
time of the ages, should be spoken to our glory." 1 Corinthians 2:7, LO.
The unveiling of the Mystery, the eternal purpose of God, was manifest
through the work of Jesus Christ, and is for our glory. We are to be to the
praise of His glory, and it will be so, when we come to the full knowledge
of the glory that has been given unto us through the Finished Work of
Christ. The Mystery is=8Ait is finished! It has always been a mystery to
humanity that the work is finished and we must rest in His work.
"Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we
should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us
to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good
pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He
has made us accepted in the Beloved." Ephesians 1:4-6, NKJV.
In God's free gift of Grace we are chosen in Him to the call of our Sonship
according to His purpose, His will, and to the praise of the glory of His
Grace. All of these Truths will take much contemplation and meditation for
them to become a realization in our lives.
"Now we know that for those who love God all things are working together for
good--for those, I mean, whom with deliberate purpose He has called. For
those whom He has known beforehand He has also pre-destined to bear the
likeness of His Son, that He might be the Eldest in a vast family of
brothers; and those whom He has pre-destined He also has called; and those
whom He has called He has also declared free from guilt; and those whom He
has declared free from guilt He has also crowned with glory. What then shall
we say to this? If God is on our side, who is there to appear against us? He
who did not withhold even His own Son, but gave Him up for all of us, will
He not also with Him freely give us all things?" Romans 8:28-32, Wey.
What is there to separate us from the Grace of God that was freely given to
us in the beginning of time? "For I am persuaded that neither death nor
life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor
things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be
able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38,39, NKJV. The love of God and the grace of God go hand in hand.
Love is in His right hand and grace is in His left: And the Truth of who we
are in His purpose is beginning to dawn in our understanding, and we know
that when we see Him as He is in us we shall be like Him. This is what His
Grace is all about.
6.) All of this is now known through the work of Christ Jesus. All that I
declare to you, and all that I say, is only understood and known through the
Finished Work of Jesus Christ. Many persons have studied and dug around in
these deep things of God. And many of these persons have ended up with the
wrong man on the throne. Without an understanding of the work being
accomplished through Christ, and for God, they have ended up thinking that
it is they who are a Son of God; that they are the Christ; that they are
Gods. If there is one thing that I pray you will understand in what I am
writing it is this: "I of my own self can do nothing." I am no God. Only
God is God, and He is God within me.
Can you fathom that Jesus said that He could do nothing of His personal
self. He knew that of his own personal self, His human self, could do
NOTHING; He knew that it was the Father within Him that was doing the works.
He did not even speak of His own: "My doctrine is not mine" He said. "If I
bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true." If we bear witness of our
personal selfhood, our witness is not true. There is nothing of the natural
man that is going to be raised up to sit with Christ in the heavens. This
is a major part of the problem that we have; we think it is us who is seated
with Christ, and it is not us (personal self), it is the New Creation Man
that we are in Him that is seated with Him.
The "us" has been done away with in the death of Christ. And the new
creature, that we are, is raised with Him. This is why Jesus came. He came
to give us life, and by dying He destroyed the very thing that was holding
us in bondage from life--death. Then when He was raised He opened up a new
way of Life that is available to us through faith. Paul was given the
understanding of the death of the "old man" and the raising up of the New:
"how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly
written already," Eph. 3:3. Paul then wrote down his revelation for us to
understand so that we would come into our own revelation of Christ; whereby
we would see that we were crucified with Christ, and raised up into a
newness of Life through this Finished Work of Christ.
All that is true of us is true by virtue of the work of Christ and what that
means to us. It's not about us, it's about Him; and in the seeing of Him we
see who it is that we were created to be in Christ. The work of Christ is a
birthing of the New Creation from the old creation. From the natural man,
"whose breath is in his nostrils," to the spiritual man who has his being in
Christ.
"What you sow is not made alive unless it dies," and God has sown in us the
Seed of His life; and through the death of His Son we find the death of our
natural Adamic man, and then the Life of our spiritual creation is made
available through His resurrection Life, but we must believe.
Through the work of Christ we must see the absolute nothingness of our
personal selfhood that is apart from God, a branch that is withered and
dies; and come into the Christ-consciousness of who we are in Christ in God.
The Father is in Christ, Christ is in the Father, and we are one in Christ
in the Father; and they are One in us. Only can this be true through the
Finished Work of Christ.
7.) We now come to the thrust of the matter: He has abolished death. Christ
Jesus has rendered inoperative the one having the dominion of death by
passing through death. Christ has freed us from the Adversary of our soul,
who has held his power of death over us, by destroying him in his own
backyard. We who have been held in bondage our whole lifetime by the fear
of death have been set free from death in the Christ of God. "Inasmuch then
as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He (Christ) Himself
likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had
the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear
of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." Hebrews 2:14,15, NKJV.
Christ has abolished death and it is only our fear of death that keeps us
in bondage to it. The word abolished means: "to render idle, unemployed,
inactive, inoperative; to cause a person or thing to have no further
efficiency; to deprive of force, influence, or power; to cause to cease, put
an end to, do away with, annul, abolish." This is a strong word, and one
which will take some understanding to comprehend.
"Manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ; who has, indeed,
vanquished death, and brought life and incorruptibility to light by the
gospel:" 2 Tim. 1:10, LO. CHRIST JESUS HAS VANQUISHED DEATH. This is one
of the most powerful statements I can think of: That death is now inactive,
rendered idle, unemployed; deprived of force and power. Think of how
awesome that is. For if this is true then what is it that we see going on
every hour of every day in this world of sickness, sin, and death?
Paul tells us in his first letter to the Corinthians that "the last enemy to
be destroyed is death." Then he tells us in his second letter to Timothy
that Christ "has abolished (destroyed) death." Which is true? Both: Christ
has destroyed him who had the power of death by passing through death, death
no longer has dominion over Him. We are incorporated in this work of
redemption, and the last enemy of death is destroyed as we ascend in our
understanding of the absolute Truth of the gospel. You shall know the TRUTH
and the TRUTH (you know) shall set you free from the old law of sin and
death. As long as we believe the law of sin and death we shall be under it.
But when we come out from among them and are separated unto God alone, and
His law of the Spirit of Life in Christ, we shall be free indeed. When we
know the Reality of Spirit as the reality of us, we shall be free from the
bondage of the fear of death.
The death that Paul is speaking of here is not physical death but is a
condition of death. It is this old law of death and corruption that we see
in operation in our lives, and it eventually brings about physical death.
Everything of Adam must die, it all must pass away. Not under any
circumstances shall the old Adamic man live forever. "In Adam all die." All
of Adam dies and must die, but in Christ ALL shall be made alive. Death is
fully destroyed when Christ is fully put on. Whether it happens in this
life or in the next, it will happen. The Truth of God's word will come to
fruition.
It is possible in this life to experience less and less of the dominion of
death. Christ has abolished death and paved the Way whereby we can live a
life that is free from sin and death. As we become God-centered through our
Christ-consciousness we will be lifted more and more into the Reality of
Spirit and experience the Life of God in Christ.
The principle that must be remembered is: "But each one in his own order."
The order is first: Death is abolished in Spirit. Second: Death is
abolished in Soul. Thirdly: Death is abolished in Body. Spiritual death is
the first to go, and we should know that this is an established fact in the
finished work of Christ. When Christ Jesus was raised from the dead
spiritual death was abolished forever as an absolute fact. Next we must
eliminate death and its fear from our soul. With the renewing of our mind,
and with the ascending of our consciousness into spiritual truth, we will
restore our soul from the lie of the carnal mind into that mind that was in
Christ Jesus. And there we will find our freedom from fear and the bondage
of corruption that has enslaved the human race. From there we shall be
changed, and our body will be fashioned after His glorious Body. We will
put on our body that is eternal in the heavens, and then we will say, "O
death, where is your sting? O hell, where is your victory?"
But beloved Brethren of God, do not put off to the future what is truly
yours today. The future is a thief, as well as the past, we must live in
the NOW of God. We must acknowledge everything that is in us in Christ, and
forget those things that are behind. Don't put off till tomorrow what is
yours today. Today is the day of salvation, today if we will hear His Voice
in the midst of the garden that we are. Today is our salvation nearer that
the day when we first believed. Look up into the Spirit, for you redemption
draws near to you from there. Look within to the kingdom of God and see the
glory of the Lord transforming your thoughts, and lifting you higher into
the Reality of the Spirit. Walk in the reality of Spirit and you will not
fulfill the lie of carnal thinking. Set your mind on the things that are
true of you in Christ in God. Acknowledge Him in, and as, all your ways and
see the fruit of Spirit come to fullness. Abide in His WORD and let His
WORD abide in you, and you will see the salvation of the Lord in your life.
May the God of peace set you apart for His eternal purpose, and may your
whole spirit, soul, and body be brought to completion in Him. -So be it.
8.) The reason for the finished work of Christ is to bring enlightenment of
life, and incorruption, through the gospel. Through the good news of Christ
and His work of redemption we should be receiving light on Life and
incorruption. We can have a life of incorruption through an understanding
of the gospel of Christ. "I am telling you the truth as a Christian man--it
is no falsehood, for my conscience enlightened, as it is, by the Holy Spirit
adds its testimony to mine--" Romans 9:1, Wey.
"I came that you might have life" is the teaching of the Master. "In Him
was life, and the life was the light of men." He is the true light that
lights every man coming into the world. But man must believe for it to be
appropriated in their life. Mankind must receive the True Light, the Life
that only comes from Christ. This Christ is the Way and the Truth and the
Life to all mankind. But all mankind have not yet received this truth. To
them who do believe He gives them the right to become sons of God, birthed
by faith alone in what God had done through His Son Jesus Christ. Will you
believe? Will You?
"Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom
of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption." 1 Corinthians 15:50,
NKJV. Our incorruption is not on our human terms. As natural men of the
earth we are in our corruption, but as we put on our spiritual identity we
will find ourselves clothed with incorruption -- and we will be changed.
"For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all
things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to
come." 1 Timothy 4:8, NKJV. God awareness, God centeredness,
Christ-consciousness, has a promise of the present life that we are now
living, as well as that which we will enter into in the Ages to come. But
let us concern ourselves with that which is right here, right now, and move
on into a greater understanding of who we are; of who God has made us to be,
and all that we can be, through the Finished Work of Christ.
"He has saved us from all that is evil, He has called us with a Holy
calling; Not because of any of our achievements, works, or anything that we
of our own selves have done, but for His own eternal purpose He has done
this. Before time, or the Ages began, He planned to give us in Christ Jesus
the grace to achieve this purpose. But it is only since the revelation of
Christ Jesus that the method has become apparent. Christ has rendered
inoperative (deprived of force) Death, and has now, through the death and
resurrection of Jesus, opened to us all the illumination and the shinning of
light on the possibilities of a life that is free of corruption. God has
given us life and incorruption through the good news of Christ Jesus."
The message of Christ must become more than just something that we learn, it
must become who we are. "Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things
are possible to him who believes."" Mark 9:23, NKJV. Can you believe?
