The Credit Card

My wife got her bill from The Bay (a nation wide department store in Canada), this month. She opened it and found that there was a zero balance and the bill said paid if full. She ran over to me and gave me a big hug and kiss and said thank you so much for paying off my Bay Card. I said" I didn't pay off your card". "We just bought a new home last month. Do you really think I have any extra money to pay off your debt?"

She looked at me kind of dumbfounded. "What do you mean, you didn't pay off the debt?"

"Just like I said. I didn't put any money on your account." "Well," she said, "The bill is marked paid in full and if you didn't pay it, then who did?"

"Why don't you call the Bay and see if there is a mix-up or something."

So my wife called up and got a hold of the accounts dept. and proceeded to ask about her account. She informed the lady that her bill had a zero balance, but that she had not paid any money on her account, since last month and she new there was a $500. balance due. The lady asked for her account number and my wife gave it to her.

"I'm sorry, Madame, but we have no record of you owing us any money. Are you sure you are giving us the right account number?"

So my wife gave it to her again, more carefully. And the lady came back and said" well Madame, we do not show you in our ledger as being in debt to us.

"I don't understand!" my wife said.

"Well, it shows that a payment was received the first of the month and the payment was placed into our account and then marked Paid in Full." "The Bay has you as not owing us anything and has closed the file on you. That's about all I can tell you." said the lady.

"So you don't know where the payment came from or who paid it?"

"No Madame", came the reply.

Well my wife got off the phone and told me what had happened. I said that she should either find out who paid the bill, or write a letter to the Bay and let them know that there has been some kind of mistake made by them. Tell them that you still believe that you owe the debt and that you would like to pay your account.

"Why bother, they do not have me on record as owing them anything. I'm not even in their ledger." She said.

"Besides, now I am debt free." She said, and went along happier than before. She was not encumbered with a debt she onece owed.

Well I guess you know who paid the Debt, don't you? And it was Paid in Full, wasn't it?

So here is the thought I would like you all to consider. The wages (payment) of sin (missing the mark) is death (separation from God). Jesus Christ paid the full asking price for your sin and not only yours but for the whole world. He paid it ONCE, for ALL two thousand years ago. Scripture says: "God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing (not placing into the ledger) their (our) trespasses against them."

Two thousand years ago, you were Debt Free. There was nothing entered in the account of your ledger. You were saved before you even entered into this world. You never sinned and were never separated from God by sin, because Jesus paid for ALL sins, past present (at that time) and future (now and tomorrow). We did not have to accept it, for there was nothing to accept as there was nothing written in the ledger to begin with.

The whole world, cosmos, was debt free when Jesus paid the price. So why do we believe we have to accept something that was paid for, when we can do nothing about it anyway. It doesn't matter if we accept the gift of Jesus or not, He paid the asking price to someone else, for you, not to you. So you can reject the payment if you want, but you can't pay the Bay, if they do not have you on record as having a debt to pay. They will not take your payment, and neither will God.

We try to bring the Gospel of Salvation to people, and tell them that they must accept the gift of Jesus Christ in order for them to be saved and go to heaven. No friend. They do not. Their debt was paid for, just like yours, and they have nothing on their account, just like you. It was paid for, long before you had the opportunity to accept or reject it.

My wife's debt with the Bay had been paid for a month before she received the bill. She had been free of her debt immediately when the payment was made. She may not have know it then, but that didn't matter. She was still debt free. It was only the time element that was the difference of the payment and her knowing about it.

ALL of humanity was debt free two thousand years ago. And none are in sin now. There is no sin to be paid for today or tomorrow, for if there is, then Jesus must come back and do it all over again, for He failed to do it right the first time. And if that is so, then the Scripture has lied to us when it says that He died ONCE for ALL.

You were NOT born in sin and separated from God. You were Not conceived in iniquity. That was in the O.T. and before Jesus died on the Cross. You were created sin free, debt free, and perfect in God's eyes, for the blood cleansed you from ALL sins two thousand years ago. There is nothing to forgive, for there is nothing on your account. You cannot forgive what is not there.

That is why the whole world is sinless, because Jesus paid for their sins. ALL the world. Just because they do not know it, right now, does not negate the fact that it is so.

I received this simply message driving home from work today and the message is so easy to understand. So why do we believe that another is not saved, going to hell, lost and without God, in sin and missing God. No one is missing God. They just think they are. It's an Illusion again. And it don't matter if they die as a Buddhist, Jew, gentile, Red White or black, Protestant, Catholic, Hindu, or pink. The Whole World is debt Free.

Think about it, just for a minute or so, and hopefully longer.

Your job (for lack of a better word) is to let others know that they were reconciled to God two thousand years ago and were Debt Free then and there.

Namaste
