The Letter

I don't believe in this life, I'll ever really meet perfection. Any man on this earth has faults, seems to only allow for humanity to step in. But as I see the stars tonight, shinning like beacons in the dark sky. And as I see the wind sing its own song to make the trees around dance so gracefully, I know that even with faults, all human life is precious. All things in man can be loved, whether good or bad, simply because they are a man. Humanity is not based on how one sees themselves, nor on how they see others. Humanity, love, patience, and peace lay in what we are, not what we see.

Just as the mountains are beautiful, and just as the sea brings peace, though both are ruff and sometimes so dangerous. So are they much admired simply for being there.

And so dad, though I'm sure much of this may not make much sense, I write to you. I write to you because of all you've taught me, because of all you've learned. I write to you because of what you are to me, and what you are period. You are a man, and just like that same mountain, you are admired for just being there. And you are my dad. In this lay much of the reasons for writing to you because I simply wanted to say I love you, and thank you for being just what, and who, you are. Many things may come in the days ahead that will change us, and life. But I want you to know that nothing will change what I've learned from you, what you are to me, and the difference you have made in my life.

So thank you, from the depths of my heart, for simply being you...my father, friend, companion, and teacher. Thank you for showing me life, giving me a chance to live and learn, and for loving me no matter what I do, believe, live, or say. In you I may not see perfection, but I know I've found the essence of it.

With love forever,
Your daughter
Because I Love You
