MALE & FEMALE CREATED HE HIM
The Bible is an amazing book that one person can read something and not even stop to ponder what they have just read, while another can become lost in thought for hours reading the same scripture. Too many Christians have never understood that the Bible was written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and therefore the natural sin conscious mind can never understand what Father is saying to his people. The natural mind has no ability to receive the things that be of God, but Paul told the saints of his day, “Let THIS MIND be in you that was also in Christ Jesus.” The natural mind is the mind that has been educated by men, teaching us how to function on this earth, and be successful. But the Mind that Paul spoke about is the MIND that is installed in what the Bible calls your heart. This word “Heart” first appears in Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his “Heart” was only evil continually. The Hebrew word used here for Heart is “leb” {labe} meaning, the inner man, mind, will, heart. This does not refer to the heart that pumps the blood around our body, but to the place in every man that God has reserve for himself, and from which our life was intended to be initiated and controlled by the King, Jesus Christ. It is the control room for the expression of the Kingdom of God manifest in MAN. Paul explains this for us in 2Cor 4:10, declaring, “That we are always bearing in our body the DYING of the Lord Jesus, that the LIFE of Jesus might be made manifest IN OUR BODY.” This “Dying” has nothing to do with physical death, but concerns the conflict between the Natural Carnal Mind and the “HEART MIND.” The “HEART MIND” is the MIND OF CHRIST that functioned in the ADAM MAN, until the “Female Aspect” of Man was released to become a separate entity that he called WOMAN. This Woman represents the SOUL which is the feminine part of SPIRIT, which in creation was united and unified with the Male in function. Now according to the Allegory in Gen 2:21-22, the Lord God caused the man to become a duality, by dividing the FEMALE aspect of Spirit from the MALE, which became the WOMAN representing the SOUL. (Heb. Nephesh) This word according to Strongs means- Soul, self, life, that which breathes, mind, desire, emotion, passion, the inner being of man with life in the blood. This is the same word that is used for the “LIVING CEATURES” in Gen 1:24, of the animal kingdom. The SOUL possessed all the attributes of life that “IS IN THE BLOOD,” but lacks the quality of Life given to Adam which flowed from SPIRIT which is eternal.
Adam knew nothing about DEATH until Eve the Soul was deceived into eating or “Appropriating” the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eve represents the female aspect of the Spirit functioning as a separate entity from Adam. It is evident that these two aspects of man represent the two MINDS in man, one Male and one Female which in the allegory are now no longer in unison with each other. It was the female EVE that faced the temptation with the serpent, and not Adam. The reason is obvious because Adam’s HEART MIND, which was the MIND OF CHRIST could not be tempted for it was aligned with the SPIRIT and the will and purposes of God. But the FEMALE MIND that now has been given freedom to function alone, is attached to the BODY to satisfy its desires and needs. Now we are introduced to another player in the life of the SOUL called the SERPENT which was, “More subtle that all the beasts of the field,” which the Lord God had made. This creature was connected to the animal species that was quite separate from man, but we are told that it has a cunning that exceeds anything else in the animal kingdom. The word “Serpent” is the translation of a Hebrew Word, “Nachash” {naw-khash'} and means, to practice divination, to divine, observe signs, learn by experience, practice fortunetelling. It is only after the Woman was taken out from the man and became separate, that the Serpent comes into existence. So we know that it is connected to the “Woman” who became a LIVING SOUL. It is most evident that what the Scripture is speaking about here is not simply a SNAKE, but something connected with WITCHCRAFT, that functions in a world of UNREALITY. Many people have dabbled in this unreal world and caused their lives to be destroyed. But for this to happen the mind must first be infiltrated by an unseen power in the psychic realm that draws the person’s consciousness into the same realm. This is true in Idolatry, where people are brought under the power of an object that is presented as having extraordinary powers. Many people have said that they have seen the devil, and so are convinced that he exists and has reality. Many Christians believe they have seen Demons fly out of a person who is being delivered from demonic power. These people are absolutely convinced that demons are real and can do extra-ordinary things. Other people who have not been “convinced” of such things, just smile at such claims and know that those people have been deluded. Uneducated people in third world countries seem to be much more susceptible than those in more developed countries. In Haiti Voodoo was introduced from West Africa during the days of the slave trade. It was also introduced in Cuba and Brazil and other countries, and even functions if the U.S. particularly in New Orleans. There are many other forms of Metaphysical teachings but all of them require a person to believe in certain phenomena beyond the realm of true reality.
The serpent in the Garden of Eden symbolized the conceptualization of spiritual power that arrested the MIND of Eve adjusting it to suit this new KNOWLEDGE of good and evil. The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was not an APPLE as even some preachers would declare, and had nothing to do with EATING ANYTHING. We must look deeper than the surface to understand what the Serpent was seeking to do. Adam as SPIRIT knew God intimately, being in his likeness and image, walking and talking in perfect communion and oneness with him every day. But Eve was only the expression of the FEMALE ASPECT of SPIRIT that had no direct contact with God, and no ability to Know God as did Adam. The soul functions through the Natural MIND and not the CHRIST MIND, but the serpent knew what he was doing. His job was to get Eve to question God’s motives and purpose regarding that tree? Being taken out from Adam (Spirit) she was not now fully aware of what God had said to Adam before the separation. But she did recall that God had said they could eat the fruit of all the trees in the Garden except that ONE TREE, adding that death would follow if the fruit of that tree was eaten. At this point the Serpent was bold enough to contradict what God said. Its reply was, YOU WILL NOT SURELY DIE, and now he is ready to defame God. The Serpent speaks as if he is quite familiar with God knowing details that he could never know saying, “GOD KNOWS, that the day you eat thereof, you eyes will be opened, and you will be as GODS knowing good and evil,” but HE did not want you to know this. That was all that it took for Eve’s natural MIND to begin to think thoughts that had never been in her mind before, which were now convincing her that God must have been lying, and now this “Serpent” had enlightened her to the Truth. At that moment her eyes were opened to what she believed was the TRUTH, and the Tree looked different to her because now her carnal MIND saw it as being good for food and pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, so she took the fruit and ate it. For Eve, the Serpent had now taken control of the carnal mind of the soul. The Spirit Mind of the man ADAM no longer functioned in harmony with the Carnal Mind of the Woman. So when Eve came to Adam with the fruit in her hand and telling him that she had proved that God was lying about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because she had eaten of the tree and she was still alive. It is strange that many Christians have asked me to explain why Adam and Eve did not drop dead when they both ate the fruit of the tree, and I am sure their MIND had also been affected by the same serpent.
THE HEART MIND
Let us look a little deeper into the truth regarding the HEART MIND. Matthew 13:19 “When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand, then cometh the wicked one, and catches away (Hapazo, to seize, carry off by force), that which was sown in his HEART. This is he which received seed by the way side.” The SOWER of the Seed of the Kingdom, SOWS the good seed IN THE HEART, and not in our HEAD. The HEART is the organ in the animal body which is the centre of the circulation of the blood, and is regarded as the seat of physical life, where the LIFE is in the BLOOD, and denotes also the centre of all spiritual life. The HEART MIND is the Mind of Christ resident in every man, but is hardly ever activated in the majority of people. That mind is connected to the Spirit which is CHRIST who is the KING of the whole earth. The Apostle Paul goes even further explaining that we have an INNER MAN and we have an OUTER MAN. These represent two authorities functioning in man today. 2Cor 4:10, “We are always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.” It is the OUTER MAN that God is trying to take to the cross for it is set in opposition to the INNER MAN which is CHRIST, and it is the Christ on the cross that represents the outer man which HE gladly laid down for us so that the INNER MAN Christ could rule and reign within us today. But Adam believed they had become as gods knowing good and evil so they chose to rule and reign over the body ignoring the INNER MAN. Verse 14 says, “Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.” This will take place as we take the outer man to the CROSS in anticipation of the resurrection that produces the NEW CREATION MAN. Paul continues saying, “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” This is so important for us to grasp by the Spirit. The OUTER MAN is perishing every day, thousands of cells in our body are dying every day, and some are being replaced but it is headed for the GRAVE. However, the INNER MAN which is CHRIST is being RENEWED EVERY DAY. Moses encouraged Israel, CHOOSE LIFE so that you may LIVE. While we fight to retain the outer man, death is inevitable. Now the question is how can we see victory for the INNER MAN?
The INNER MAN is CHRIST who said, “I am the vine and you are the branches,” this is like a parable to help us understand the transformation. Christ the INNER MAN of our being puts down his roots into the earth of our humanity or the OUTER MAN, drawing up the minerals and whatever else it needs from the earth of our being, swallowing up our outer man and transforming it into LIVING TISSUE. This process continues until the INNER MAN actually becomes the OUTER MAN and the OUTER MAN becomes the INNER MAN. But Paul says there is a condition attached to this process. Verse 17 and 18 are divided by a FULL STOP, which the Holy Spirit did not put there so we must take it away and read those two verses as ONE. “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal, or passing away, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” The OUTER MAN believes what his natural eyes can see is for him, his REALITY, but Paul continues saying that everything you can see with your natural eyes is part of this transient world which is passing away for it is not eternal. It is only that which is invisible to our natural eyes that has true eternal value.
But every man also has another MIND which is called the NATURAL or CARNAL MIND which is connected to our Intellect, and is the mind with which we REASON and consider everything before we make a decision. Our Natural MIND and our intellect are both programmed by man and are suitable for training to achieve certain skills in this natural world, but have no part in understanding spiritual things. Paul tells us, “We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom that God ordained before the world, unto our glory.” No natural Mind or intellect can process the wisdom of God, so that the Princes of this world could never grasp truth, or they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. Eyes have not seen neither nor Ear heard neither has it entered into the HEART (MIND) the things that God has prepared for those who love him. So our Carnal Mind has absolutely NO ABILITY to grasp the things that are of God, because God can only reveal them to us BY HIS SPIRIT. God’s intention is that those two Minds should function together in loving harmony. Israel could not believe so they crucified Jesus Christ, and Isaiah tells us in John 12:40, “He hath blinded their spiritual eyes, and hardened their heart (MIND) that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart and be converted, and I should heal them.” This is a penal blindness, but only for a time for this is the TIME OF THE GENTILES to bring them in, and graft them in to the same root as spiritual Israel.
Mankind has continued to allow the Serpent to do what he did to EVE in the Garden of Eden, editing their understanding of God and distorting his character and his nature. The Serpent has become identified with the Natural MIND of man concerning which Paul declares in 1 Corinthians 2:14, “But the natural or Carnal man receives not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” Most Christians simply do not understand the situation that now exists in mankind generally. Man is functioning out of a MIND that has been programmed by the serpent and is attached to the intellect, so that what most people believe has been formulated by the serpent. To know God is now a study program called THEOLOGY, taught in Colleges by men who are also affected by the serpent. This knowledge is now ranked by “Degrees” that can be earned through schools of “Higher Learning” to give credence to the wisdom of the serpent. Millions of books have been written on the subject with thousands of different and conflicting ideas, with each reader being given the freedom to believe whatever appeals to them. Now the whole subject of God is called RELIGION, which is simply, “GOD as seen through the eyes of the serpent,” otherwise known as the CARNAL MIND. Christians take great pride in their superior knowledge of God which sets them apart from everyone else, causing deep seated differences, that divides the people. To be a Pentecostal is considered in some circles the pinnacle of spiritual knowledge and understanding, because they have the Holy Spirit. But they also believe in Evil spirits, Demons and a Devil, as well as a God who lives up in the sky, in a Heaven that has streets of Gold and Mansions for the saints. With the addition of a HELL that burns forever and forever destroying all of mankind who do not respond according to what Christians believe. Most Christians spend their time WAITING for Jesus, who they say went up to this heaven over 2000 years ago telling us that he would come back and take all the Christians up into the sky to be forever with him. But in much of this I can hear the HISS of the SERPENT. But here is the question, “Is it possible to get free from the subtlety of the Serpent?” My answer is Yes, and the scriptures declare the answer in Romans 12:1-2. (Paraphrased) “I beseech you brothers, by the mercies or compassion of God, that you present your B-O-D-Y (that has been taken over by the SOUL to fulfill her will and desires), TO THE LORD (deliberately and consciously) as a LIVING SACRIFICE (not dead as were the sacrifices of Israel) which is HOLY, and acceptable unto God, which is your spiritual WORSHIP, AND be NOT CONFORMED, (to the Religious opinions of this world) but be TRANSFORMED (metamorphoo, meaning, to change into another form, to transform or to transfigure) into the image in which we were created, which is the LIKENESS and the IMAGE OF GOD. This transformation can only be accomplished by THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND. The word Renewing speaks of a total re-make as in the case of the Caterpillar becoming a Butterfly. The mind of the caterpillar would never allow the butterfly to fly, so the change was not just in FORM but in a completely NEW MIND suited to the Butterfly. This is a perfect illustration of what Paul is speaking about here.
Deuteronomy 18:9 “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God gives thee, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. You shall be perfect with the LORD thy God.” (Meaning complete or whole, NOT A BODY SOUL AND SPIRIT but O-N-E, a spiritual UNITY, as we were in CREATION, complete and sound, unimpaired, and INNOCENT, having integrity being aligned with TRUTH) Because these nations, which thou shall possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners, (the wisdom of the SERPENT), but as for you, the LORD thy God has not INTENDED for you to be so involved.
Until the Holy Spirit opens our spiritual eye to the TRUTH, much of what is written here will remain a mystery, but Jesus said, “If your EYE BE SINGLE, that is the eye of the spirit, YOUR WHOLE BODY WILL BE FILLED WITH LIGHT,” FOR IT IS THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD REVEALING THE KING OF THE WJOLE EARTH HIGH AND LIFTED UP. Matt 6:22.
The woman is the LIVING SOUL and now represents all of humanity MALE and FEMALE all of whom have been BORN OF A WOMAN, in which the predominant control is centered in the FEMALE CARNAL MIND. We are here speaking about the carnal mind as being female, not suggesting it is associated only with the Female species called women, for man was created spirit, and spirit is Male and Female functioning together as ONE. Man born of a WOMAN is born in this world with a Female Carnal Mind, but also with the Male HEART MIND which is the MIND OF CHRIST also set up and ready to function. But if the parents are Living Souls and functioning out of the Female Carnal mind then the children will very soon find that MIND to become dominant in them also. In so many families Christ is not present as the honored guest in the home so the CHRIST Mind has very little activation. The result is that these two Minds never function together in UNISON. In fact the CHRIST MIND is hardly ever consulted, Because Eve now became the expression of LIFE for Adam. Eve never considered Adam at all until after she had eaten of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The concept of being separated, the Female from the Male is so strong that the OTHER PART OF MAN CALLED SPIRIT is hardly ever consulted only when in trouble. This is just as true today as it was in the garden of Eden. The basic cause of this is because we are no longer convinced that GOD LOVES US. It is so easy to sing, “I LOVE YOU LORD and I lift my heart to worship thee, O my God.” But listen to Christians speaking about sickness as being a form of divine retribution for wrong doing. Then listen to what Martha said, “Lord if you had been here my brother would not have died….YOU ARE TO BLAME you should have been here!!. My Mother had cancer and we prayed night and day asking you to heal her but you let her die….WHY? It is your fault God! A child dies in an accident and the preacher says, GOD TOOK HIM. Are you listening to this???? How few, so called Christians genuinely L-O-V-E GOD today. We say we love him when everything is going well but we blame God for the EVIL in this world. Why does God allow people to be murdered or raped. This should not be so if God really loves us. I could go on, along this line of thinking because I have heard it all, and there was a time when I was a part of that crowd. Thank God I know something of the RENEWING of the MIND that Paul speaks about.
Man has yet to discover that God never created a Woman only the MAN, BUT the Man is SPIRIT and so is the FEMALE. This means that the MAN is spirit and therefore MALE and FEMALE, and the WOMAN is also MALE and FEMALE for BOTH are SPIRIT. The concept of separation has caused the Man to be irresistibly drawn to the woman in order to bring completeness into his being. God said, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and will cleave unto his wife……FOR THIS CAUSE! What is the CAUSE that is spoken of here? It is the belief that we have been separated from Christ in the Garden of Eden which is the cause of man’s desire to leave his mother and father and cleave unto his wife, as a means of fulfillment. I am not suggesting that marriage is wrong but we are speaking about spiritual issues here. If the female (Living Soul) carnal mind is predominant then our focus will be towards the earth which includes the Body and the mind of the Spirit will be basically ignored. However, the separation spoken about in Gen.2, is an allegory and is not LITERAL, nor could it be, as it is impossible to divide spirit. Because God gave man dominion over all the works of his hands, it is now the carnal Mind that is in control. It is out of that Mind that flows the will and desires of the Man and NOT God. Proverbs 19:21.
Man was created Spirit which is ONE and cannot be divided, but it was the Carnal mind that is connected to the Intellect that was involved in the discussion with the Serpent. The natural or carnal Mind is the MIND of REASON, which is an attribute of mankind, and out of that activity decisions are made. Having infected her natural carnal mind, the serpent wins the contest and Eve finally takes and eats the fruit of the forbidden tree. In the process, her natural mind now becomes “CARNAL” which means, having the nature of flesh, and under the control of the animal appetites. This condition exists today because so many Christians are convinced in their Mind that the woman was actually taken out of the Man who represents Christ. This concept of separation is why the CHRIST SPIRIT MIND is not functioning in them today, because if it was they would know that Christ IS STILL THERE within them. This is really the key element in Redemption but religion does not even touch on this subject. No man on this earth can walk in Holiness and righteousness until the Christ MIND has been activated and the CHRIST who is KING has been elevated to the THRONE and the WOMAN finds her place as an integral part of the man, having never been separated from him. In this the man becomes WHOLE or (HOLY) and the LAW of commandments written on the tables of stone that brought condemnation to Israel, is replaced by the Law of the spirit of LIFE that releases us from the Law of sin and death.
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ, (which was never subject to any earthly laws) because the “Female” aspect of his being was in perfect union with the Male for they were O-N-E. He only DID what he saw his Father do and he only SAID what he heard his Father say, so there was no place for “REASON” so there was no duality in him. Because of this he Condemned sin in the Flesh, demonstrating that it is possible for MAN born of a woman to function according to God’s will and purpose But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead (and not free to express our true reality) wherein we were held; that we should serve out of the SPIRIT MIND. Paul openly confesses his dilemma that he had to face which is common to all of us. That which I do, I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. Romans 7:15 Let me paraphrase this verse for you,
“That which I do, I allow not, (What I do is not consistent with what I know), because what I would choose to do, I am not doing, but what I detest, that is the thing that I am doing, Now then it is obviously NOT the “I” of my true identity that is functioning here, but a SIN CONSCIOUSNESS operating through the Serpent affected carnal MIND that is operating in me.
The serpent’s power is resident in our natural mind according to what we read concerning EVE in the Garden of Eden but now I am going to share with you what religion has not told you and never will. I ask the question, “How can we divest ourselves of this carnal MIND that has been so affected by the serpent in the Garden, and begin to live out of our TRUE CHRIST MIND, which is in our HEART.” Most of us did what we were told, and gave our hearts to Jesus and believed his death was our death and that he died for our sins etc etc. BUT nothing seemed to make any real difference, except to make us more religious and in many cases more proud that we were better than others, and going to heaven when we die. I have to tell you that I have walked the same path as the Apostle Paul walked in the above verses with exactly the same result. I cried, “Oh wretched man that I am, WHO SHALL DELIVER ME FROM THIS SIN CONSCIOUS CARNAL MIND AND SET ME FREE?” But it was like no one was listening. So I looked at Paul’s answer, “I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So with the MIND I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh (Sarx) the soulish animal nature I serve the law of Sin. “I could not find a definitive answer here so I searched further until I came to Philippines 5:2, where Paul says, “LET this MIND be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” It was that little word L-E-T that caught my attention. I could hear the echo of God’s voice where he spoke this word 13 times in Genesis 1.concerning creation. No mention of power or force of any kind. He just said “LET there be light, and there was light.” It is like he is saying, “I Permit light to be, or just LET IT BE.” “LET this MIND be in you,” does not seem like any struggle involved here or any clash of wills. He just says to us, L-E-T this MIND of Christ dwell in you!!! WHY does he say it like that without fanfare or fulfilling some religious ritual just LET IT BE. O God help us here for the simplicity of this statement is almost too much for us to grasp. If Paul had given us laws to fulfill, or some ritual of repentance to go through perhaps we would feel like we had accomplished something but all he says is, “LET IT BE.” Beloved please pause here before you read on, and let the spirit write this in your heart in letters of GOLD.
Now I will tell you why this is the TRUTH just as Paul gives it to us in Philippines. Here is the background to our discussion here for it goes back to the Garden of Eden and Adams experience in Gen 2:21-22. What we read here is not and cannot be LITERAL. For many people this becomes a stumbling block for they insist that all of scripture must be viewed literally. Well I have never heard a snake talking, and holding a conversation with anyone, nor have I seen a tree of LIFE or a TREE of the knowledge of good and evil. So this scripture in verse 21 and 22 is an allegory. Adam was created SPIRIT for he was created out of God who is SPIRIT. We know that Spirit is MALE and FEMALE functioning together as ONE, and that in James 1:18 we are told that GOD BEGAT US OUT OF HIMSELF, because he being spirit is MALE AND FEMALE functioning as ONE, so to reproduce he did not need any help at all. SPIRIT cannot be divided, because in the scriptures we never read of a MALE SPIRIT or a FEMALE SPIRIT. In fact Spirit has NO GENDER so it cannot be divided. Therefore what happened to Adam took place while he was UNCONSCIOUS or in a deep SLEEP. He was totally unaware of what was going on, so spiritually what happened there is all a part of the ADAMIC DREAM WORLD. Here is another reason for saying that GOD NEVER CREATED A WOMAN. God only created MAN but that man was MALE and FEMALE functioning as ONE. Further proof of what I am saying is that God said to ADAM (NOT ADAM AND EVE) Gen 1:28 “And God blessed (them is inserted) and said, Be fruitful and multiply and replenish or fill the earth…….” The translators of our English Bible did not understand Adam as the SPIRIT MAN so they added the word “Them” because reproduction for natural MAN for them involves a MAN and a WOMAN. The “THEM” is not in the older copies of these scriptures. Also in Gen 5:2 It says, “Male and female created he (them is added); and blessed and CALLED THEIR NAME ADAM, in the day when they were created. Notice that God never called the woman “EVE,” that was what Adam called her. So the WOMAN was “FORMED” in the “MIND” of Adam and he was the one that called her “WOMAN,” which in Hebrew is Eeshaw because she was taken OUT OF ADAM who is EESH, the man.
So now we know that this whole episode in Gen 2:21-22 is an allegory to reveal to us the function of the SOUL and its progression through the Scriptures. If the separation of the woman from the MAN CHRIST, is an allegory then it is not part of our reality but makes it clear that the SOUL or the female part of the MAN, has exerted its authority over the MAN that is created SPIRIT and is male and female functioning together as ONE. This is the allegory but for mankind we have taken it as the reality of who we are, forgetting how we were created out of God AS SPIRIT in the beginning, and what we were in Creation we still are exactly the same today. We have allowed the Carnal Soulish MIND to rule and reign over us believing that we cannot do anything about it. Then we hear Paul say to us, “LET THIS MIND which was in Christ Jesus the first man God created, BE IN YOU. We do not have to buy it, or work for it, or do anything else to get it, BUT just LET IT BE or ALLOW IT TO BE. Lord we have used so many words here but we ask YOU to speak this truth into the hearts of your people that we might step out of the Adamic consciousness, into the reality of “JESUS CHRIST IS L-O-R-D, ruling and reigning IN US TODAY.”
THE DUALITY OF MIND
In this section we will consider the testing of Jesus Christ at the beginning of his ministry on the earth to see if we can learn something from him. John the Baptist have been Baptizing people in the Jordan River and this day Jesus appeared and asked him to Baptize him. After saying that Jesus should be Baptizing him he finally agreed, and as he came up out of the water John saw a Dove, the symbol of the holy Spirit coming down and alighting upon him and remaining on him. This was the sign that he had been given to Identify the one who would baptize with the Holy Spirit. But we are told that the SPIRIT LED JESUS INTO THE WILDERNESS TO BE TESTED OF THE DEVIL. This was not the Devil getting hold of Jesus in an attempt to destroy him. NO this whole episode is instigated by the Spirit of the LORD. We need to identify first of all who or what is this “Devil?” The Greek word for “Devil” is diabolos {dee-ab'-ol-os} and means, prone to slander, slanderous, accusing falsely. The word slander means, “False or malicious statements about someone or defamation of character.” You will notice that the word “Devil” does not appear in the Old Testament at all, but begins in the New Testament in Matthew 4:1, “Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.”
Why is this occasion used to introduce this “Devil” into the scriptures? This is an important question and here is the answer. Jesus Christ was the first man to come down out of the Spirit world since Adam in the beginning. John 3:13, “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.” Then who is this man who is a visitor to this world from that “Other World,” the invisible realm of spirit. This man is GOD’S ORIGINAL MAN who was spoken into existence in Gen 1:26 who is Christ Jesus, and IN HIM was CREATED all of mankind, and from him we all have come. Eph 2:10. “For we are his workmanship, (speaking of our Body), but we were created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” The Truth is that we “ALL” had our origin in that OTHER WORLD, because GOD IS OUR FATHER as Jesus taught us in Matt 23:9. “Call no man your Father on this earth, because there is only ONE FATHER and he is in that other world we call heaven.” We were created in God’s Likeness and Image that is, with his NATURE and CHARACTER, allowing us to express God in our daily life. God is spirit therefore MAN also is spirit, living in a body, and that spirit belongs to the realm of spirit, which is right here now with us but in another dimension which to our natural eyes is invisible. Heaven, Gk (ouranos {oo-ran-os'} simply means “Above,” but not so much in vertical height, but SUPERIOR and of a higher quality.
Eve was deceived by the SERPENT in the Garden of Eden and was enticed to eat of the forbidden tree and so they lost their place in the Garden. They were sent out into the world with the knowledge of good and evil, and from that time EVIL has escalated in the world from Cain who was a murderer, until God said in Genesis 6:13, “The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and I will destroy them with the earth.” God’s original man was promised by the Prophet Isaiah in Isa 9:6. He was born in Bethlehem to a virgin having no earthly Father but declared to be the SON OF THE MOST HIGH GOD EL-ELYON. After 4000 years of human history man had forgotten who he is, so God sent his ORIGINAL MAN born of a woman just to remind us who we are, and to demonstrate how we were intended to function. At the age of 12 he knew his true identity calling God his Father, but little is recorded of his developing years until he reached the age of 30, when he appears at the Jordan River where John the Baptist was baptizing people. He asks John to Baptize him but John knew who he was, and so remonstrated with him that he should be doing the baptizing instead of John. But he insisted and John baptized him, and as he came up out of the water John saw a DOVE, the symbol of the Holy Spirit alighting upon him and remaining there. John 1:33 And John said, “I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, upon whom you will see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which will baptize with the Holy Ghost.” John said he now was sure that this is the SON OF GOD.
Matthew declares that Jesus was led by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Matt 4:1. So we need to understand what this is all about especially as this is the first time in the scriptures that the word “devil” is used. I want you to see the connection here between Adam in the Garden of Eden where their every need was supplied, and Jesus here in the wilderness with nothing. Adam, through Eve was confronted with the serpent who seduced her, causing her to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge and then giving the fruit to Adam, which changed their whole life and destroyed their relationship with God who now became their enemy. Now we have God’s original man coming to the earth to redeem all mankind and repair the damage the serpent caused. So he must pass the test where Adam failed if he is to be the redeemer. The “Serpent” here is called the “Devil,” who is the slanderer and the false accuser. Remember that Satan is also said to be the “ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN.” To be the redeemer he must be able to with-stand this test as a MAN, and defeat this devil in his attempt to destroy his integrity in his relationship with God. The Serpent in the Garden of Eden represents the natural or Carnal MIND OF MAN that Paul tells us is set as enmity against God, and has no ability to know or understand spiritual things. The word CARNAL is from the Greek word, “Sarkikos” sar-kee-kos' and means having the nature of flesh, i.e. under the control of the animal appetites, and governed by mere human nature not by the Spirit of God. That is the “Mind” of EVE the LIVING SOUL that has been deceived by the serpent and represents the intellectual mind programmed by our parents and our educators. If this is the mind that Jesus is using in this contest then he will fail just like Adam did. So the contest begins, and the first 40 days and nights he is fasting so the tempter waits until the fasting is over and he knows that Jesus is very hungry. So the test begins, “If you are the Son of God then command these stones be made bread.” This was a legitimate request because Jesus was very hungry having no food, so who could judge him for doing what was in his power to do. But Jesus knew the word by which he was to live. Deuteronomy 8:3 “And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you did not know, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that IS PROCEEDING out of the mouth of the LORD, doth man live.”
So Jesus would not respond to the voice of the tempter even though he needed food, but he did not have to prove to himself or others that he is the Son of God. He understood that LIFE for us does not flow from eating physical food, (Bread), but from obedience to the voice of the Father. Jesus wins a decisive victory over this “Devil” which is nothing more that the natural or Carnal MIND that is in every man. Remember Jesus himself said, Matthew 15:18, “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the HEART, and they (THESE THOUGHTS) defile the man.. For out of the heart proceed EVIL THOUGHTS, (that produce) murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies, and giving way to these thoughts is what defiles a man: but to eat with unwashed hands defiles not a man.” Jesus was not fighting some creature with supernatural powers outside himself, as religion teaches us. For God does not have any enemies, because if he did, HE WOULD NOT BE GOD. Can you see that there is no EXTERNAL ENTITY called the DEVIL, for what the “Devil” is accused of causing in man, actually originates not outside a man but comes FROM WITHIN. Adam, through Eve responded to the VOICE she heard as a thought in her “DECEIVED MIND,” disregarding what she knew God said, and obeyed the voice of the SERPENT that represented her carnal or soulish MIND. That MIND is ruling and reigning in mankind today because Christians have been taught that EVIL is a real entity moving around the world causing people to be wicked and do ungodly things. It is time to recognize evil is resident within the man the seat of which is in the Natural or Carnal MIND.
Jesus is facing the same situation that Adam faced in the Garden, but where Adam brought death on all men Paul declares, “IN CHRIST SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE. So in this testing time for Jesus Christ the future of mankind is in the balance, so this is most important for us to understand. Having failed on the first attempt to deceive him, the “Devil” takes him up into the Holy City and seats him on a pinnacle of the Temple, and says, “If you are the Son of God cast yourself down because it is written, He shall give the angels charge over you, and in their hands they will lift you up lest at any time you might dash your foot against a stone.” As we read these things we must allow the Spirit to show us the truth being revealed here. This “Devil” did not physically pick up Jesus and transport him to the roof of the Temple in Jerusalem. The whole point of this exercise is again to see if the MIND of Jesus could be deceived as was the mind of EVE, in the Garden. The scriptures declare, “We have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities (want of strength, weakness of the body, with its natural weakness and frailty, feebleness of health or sickness and of the soul) but was in all points tempted LIKE AS WE ARE, yet without sin.” Heb 4:15. We need to understand that no man on this earth has been tested in any way beyond what Jesus Christ was tested.
What does this particular testing represent for us today, because every man will face the same issues but not perhaps in the same setting. The issue here in this test is to see if we believe in our heart that God is all that he says he is, and will do exactly what he has promised. If we have to actually put God to the test to PROVE that he is who he says he is, and will do what he says he will do, then that is the proof that we do not really trust him. The Pentecostals had a practice in years gone by whereby they would handle and walk among venomous snakes to prove they were filled with the spirit and so could do what the Bible says in Psalm 91:13 “Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder, the young lion and the dragon (serpent) shalt thou trample under feet Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.” Of course some died but for the Pentecostal people, that was proof to the group that they were not true believers. If that is what God intended us to do then Jesus should have jumped off the Temple roof and let the Angels catch him and place him gently on the ground, and that would have proved to everyone that he really was the SON OF GOD. Jesus Christ knew he was the SON OF GOD and did not need to PROVE THAT TO BE SO. How many Pastors today refuse to work to earn a living letting their wife and children suffer, in some poor countries because they must prove they are trusting God for their support but silently BEGGING money from others. This is failing the Test. The answer Jesus gave to the “Devil” or his natural mind regarding this test was, Deuteronomy 6:16 “You shall not tempt the LORD your God, as you tempted him in Massah.” This test was legitimate even though he was the Christ he was MADE IN THE LIKENESS OF MAN so he had to deny everything that was not according to what the WORD SAID. We build our trust in God BY F-A-I-T-H, and not by SIGHT.
The next test finds him on the top of a very high mountain from which he could see all the Kingdoms of the world, and their glory. As he surveys the scene before him, he is challenged by this one called the Devil in this, the greatest test of the three he faced. This is the deal, “If you will BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP ME, I will give you everything you can see.” Of the three tests I believe there are more people that have failed in this test than any other. We will bow to our carnal mind easily to get more possessions and more wealth and more power. Every man has stood on that mountain and surveyed the potential before him, and has worshipped the “MIND” or Serpent that you believe can give it to you. Beloved I want you to know, “THE EARTH IS THE LORDS and everything that is in it.” Psalm 24:1. So since when did your carnal mind have the right to offer you anything. That mind has been deceived by the Serpent in the Garden of Eden and will lie to you every time. Yet thousands today are bowing down to that Carnal mind that will allow you to cheat and lie to become rich, or to more authority and power to achieve whatever you desire. But Jesus Christ only bowed to what God says and nothing more. His reply to this test was to speak directly to his adversary calling him “SATAN,” who accuses the brethren day and night saying, “Get ye hence Satan for it is written, you shall worship the LORD YOUR GOD, and him only shall you serve.” Satan is under the control of God and fulfills an important role in the purposes of God.
The only one that accuses anyone day and night is our carnal mind, who never stops, even infiltrating our dreams. Now it is so important to know what this SATAN is, and it’s function so we will turn to the book of JOB 1:6. Here we are introduced to Satan who in this allegory appears with the Sons of God as they appear before the Lord. This is interesting that Satan always appears with the sons of God, but the scriptures say that he “CAME AMONG THEM.” Satan is NOT ONE OF THEM. Here in this scripture Satan is given personality, so we can understand his role in the life of all mankind but particularly those who are the Sons of God. Here God speaks to him saying, “Where have you come from?” He answered, “From going to and fro in the earth and walking up and down in it,” (as if he owned it). The conversation continues, have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and upright man, and one that fears God and turns away from EVIL. So now God enlists “Satan” to reveal the TRUTH concerning Job not just to him, but to all the world. All this is without Job knowing anything about this deal that is about to be made. Satan says, “Does Job fear you for NOTHING? He is saying there has to be a trade off here somewhere because nobody does anything without a PAY BACK. “Have you not made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land, But if you will put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, he will curse you to your face.” This is not a conversation with a real living person, but Satan represents your natural or Carnal mind. It is the same one that caused Adam to be put out of the Garden of Eden, and the same one who is now tempted Jesus in the Wilderness. The Church teaches that this is a real being of some kind, or a FALLEN ANGEL. This false information causes Gods people to be confused and can find no answer to the problems they face. When we understand that our problem is that we have two minds, the CARNAL MIND, and the MIND OF CHRIST but in most cases only one is active and that is the Carnal Mind that Paul tells us cannot understand the things of the spirit. 1Cor 2:14. This is the mind that says, “You cannot be a Christian with such ungodly thoughts in your head. Or you are in a prayer meeting and the Video in your head suddenly turns on with some shocking show and you fight to get rid of it, but the more you try the louder it gets. That is your CARNAL MIND. It says to you, “If it feels good DO IT.”
Let us follow the story in Job 1 as the story unfolds. The Lord says to satan, “All that he has is in your power, only upon himself you cannot put your hand,” so satan goes out from the presence of the Lord. Then it says, There was a day, when a messenger came to Job to tell him. “The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away, and they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword, and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands and fell upon the camels and have carried them away, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground and worshipped the LORD.
And said, “Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. Remember Job knew nothing of satan’s conversation with God, all he knew was what the messengers told him. But now God makes a declaration saying, “In all this Job DID NOT SIN NOR DID HE BLAME GOD FOOLISHLY.” So Job was not trying to prove anything to anyone but he never sinned with his lips. How different are many Christians today telling God, “I asked you to heal my mother or child, but you did not answer and now they are dead.” God it is your fault, you could have healed them but you did not do it. I have heard it many times. Where do such thoughts come from? They are the product of the Carnal mind, thoughts accusing God that are often expressed to the Lord, but many times remain as THOUGHTS but left unspoken. That was a rebuff to satan, who said that Job would curse God to his face if he took from him everything he had. But do not think that satan can be quitened that easy, because There was ANOTHER DAY when the sons of God came to present themselves to the Lord, and satan came AMONG THEM, represented by the Carnal mind. And God said, “Have you considered Job, that there is none like him in the Earth, a perfect and an upright man, who fears (Reverences) God and turns away from Evil.” Satan’s answer was, “Skin for Skin, for all that a man has will he give for his life, but put forth your hand now and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.” God said, “He is in your hand but you cannot touch his life.” You will notice God set the limits so satan could not just do whatever he wanted.
So Job is covered in Boils from head to toe. Remember that Boils formed one of the plaques on Egypt that God used to release Israel from slavery. So now Job is in great distress and looks a pitiful sight sitting in a heap of ashes. Job is going through a testing to show us clearly what FAITH and TRUST is all about. If you want to make this a LITERAL HISTORIC EVENT in Job, then you will have a very different response to this whole episode. You will say this is the two sides of God, on the one hand God is love but on the other hand he puts us through trials and tribulation which are his judgments upon us. BUT I believe that this is not literal historical book, but an allegory, as this is not written as history, but it all has a spiritual import that we need to understand. Job is not mentioned as being a part of Israel or connected to Abraham. There are only three references to Job outside the Book of Job. Two are in Ezekiel 14:14 and verse 20 and in both places only mentioning him in reference to his righteousness/ The other mention is in James 5:11 where his patience is mentioned. When we put all that together it becomes plain that this book is allegorical to reveal the various forms the enemy uses to bring us down.
Job became an enigma because nobody understood his response to the circumstances of his life. But Job never cursed God regardless of what he was going through. This means that he was not listening to his Carnal mind or satan would have proved himself right. Job was plugged into the MIND OF CHRIST that functions according to the Word and Will of God. Remember that his Christian friends accused him of many things including his innocence before God. They believed that to have the problems that Job had he must have done some very bad things, just as many churches do today, and so he was being punished by God. But Job said Job 32:8 “But there is a spirit in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding.” When our understanding comes by the spirit through the MIND OF CHRIST then we live by the inspiration of God. God finally rebuked all of Job’s friends for their false accusations and told Job to pray for them and then they were blessed and Job had seven times more than he had in the beginning. Lord help us today who are the sons of God to be PURE in our heart and deny the carnal mind any authority at all in our life as the CHRIST MIND illuminates the pathway before us and we walk in the blessing of the Lord.
My desire in writing this study, is to reveal what our enemy is that we find coming against us, because if we do not understand what that enemy is we can become involved in a battle against something that does not have any true existence at all. So many Christians speak about the Devil dogging their footsteps every day. When they close their eyes crazy thoughts fill the mind and other similar problems that persist in the life of many Christians. All that comes against us today can be explained as the CARNAL MIND from Eve in the Garden to Jesus Christ in the wilderness. Beyond that we are in the realm of darkness in which the biggest NATION on this earth is involved. IT IS CALLED THE IMAGI- NATION, where the carnal mind is free to create the ghosts and goblins, the demons and evil spirits and devils turning the darkness into a jungle of every foul kind. Paul tells us in Romans 1:21, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their IMAGINATIONS and their foolish heart was darkened (began to operate in the darkness).” Then Paul continues in 2 Corinthians 10:5, “Casting down IMAGINATIONS and every high thing (Thought) that exalts itself against the TRUTH, or the KNOWLEDGE we received by the spirit from God, and bringing into captivity (Under control) every THOUGHT to the obedience of Christ.” If this writing robs the enemy of its covering, exposing it as the nothing that it is, then we will praise the Lord together.
May the Spirit lead and guide you into the victory that is in CHRIST Jesus the Lord.
