THE ROOT OF TERRORISM

SUNNY ORLY COFFMAN – APRIL 26, 2002

Isa 40:2-5 – "The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of Lord hath spoken it."

All men are created equal – level – same altitude – no valleys – no mountains. We are instructed not to compare ourselves one to another. When we do such a comparison, we provide opportunity for either a valley or a mountain to be formed in our lives. We judge [eat of the tree of good and evil], determine by our own standards, whether we "succeed" or "fail" by the comparisons we make.

If we determine that we have "failed", we live "in the valley." We live in the realm of guilt and condemnation [produced most often as a result of religious false teaching]. We open the door to self-pity, insecurity, depression and ultimately perhaps suicide. This kind of thinking is the direct result of not knowing who we really are in Christ Jesus.

If we determine that we are "on-target," we live "on the mountain." We allow pride to exalt us to unrealistic levels. Pride opens the door for competition.

In either case, we are worshipping at the altar of SELF – SELF is judging, SELF in control of his own destiny, or so this illusion would try to convince us.

ALL TERRORISM IS THE RESULT OF COMPETITION. When you judge yourSELF to be "right" and convince yourSELF you have the "right" to harass or destroy those that do not agree with you, you have become a TERRORIST.
