WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD

HIS SACRED DWELLING PLACE

EZEKIEL 47:1 "And He brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar."

Notice in this verse that the front of the temple faced east and that water flowed from the door of the temple. Since we are the temple of God today - His sacred dwelling place, how does the water flow from the door of our temple?

JOHN 7:38 JESUS SPOKE: "he who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."

We know from LUKE 7:45 JESUS, AGAIN SPEAKING, SAID: "For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks."

If our heart is full of the love of God, continually dwelling on Him and what He has done and the love that He pours out on us, could it be as God chooses to speak through us to those in need around us, that it is the powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit that is actually the water or the river of water that is spewing from us to effect change in the lives of those around us?

As I continued to read Ezekiel, all I could think of was: "facing east" might mean being in a spirit of anticipation for the appearing of Jesus. And, as Jesus does appear in His chosen ones, I see the Holy Spirit more and more in control of our very being and the water flowing out of our temple as the anointing or divine power and unction goes forth - bringing healing and deliverance - to set the captives free.

To me, the height or depth of the water represents the level of anointing; the increase of power; less resistance in the vessel; greater work of sanctification; moving toward total take-over.

IN EZEKIEL 47:7 "there along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other."

I saw the two banks of the river as representing the present life - physical, earth-bound on the one side and the spiritual, heavenly planted on the other side. I saw the trees as people and I saw the people on the heavenly side as the "cloud of witnesses" cheering on those of us who are still on this side participating in the race - as Paul described this walk on earth.
