WRITTEN TO MY ARTIST FRIEND, MICHAEL IN A TIME OF SLUMP

By: SUNNY ORLY COFFMAN - APRIL 2, 2000

What does it profit to be in slumps...

It's not the action that will bring peace and joy

So, remove yourself from "down in the dumps"

Come on up from there -- atta boy!

It's time to do the things that are constructive

Time to get those easels filled with imagination

Your hours must be spent being productive.

No time to sit around full of resignation.

So, let me hear a good report about this week

Let me know that you have received some new revelation

I don't want to hear you've become a geek

Or taken a month's vacation.

The world is waiting for what you're bringing forth

We're all in hushed expectation....

Awaiting the unveiling of Michael's new birth

With enthusiastic, genuine anticipation.

So, get those brushes stroking

And put that pallet knife in motion

You'll never reach your goal sleeping

And certainly fall behind in slow motion.

The seeds were planted in winter when the wind was blowing

They have been feed and watered as spring has budded

But now is the time for creativity to be flowing

And for our famous artist to be applauded.
