LIFE GIVERS MINISTRIES
Isaiah 26:19 Your dead shall live, together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing you who dwell in the dust; for your dew is like the dew of the herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
26:20 come my people enter your chambers and shut your doors behind you; hide yourself as it were for a little moment until the indignation is passed.
20:21 For behold the Lord comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; the earth will disclose her blood (bloodshed) and will no more cover her slain.
After reading this chapter, I realize Father God is promising us in verse 19 that regardless of the “wind” (our works) we have brought forth (v 18) the dead shall live.
We have tried to do OUR best in the flesh but forgot the battle is not about natural things. Only God by His Spirit can break a person to the point of coming to Him. Not by might (mans works) not by power (force), but by MY Spirit, saith the Lord. He alone knows the right time for a man to make such a decision. What ever made us think we could do a spiritual thing by natural ways? We are foolish beings! Therefore we have not accomplished anything except petting our own ego and building our pride!
All the filling of pews, knocking on doors, cook outs, dinner on the grounds, and everything else the mind could think of to increase the numbers have not worked. We have all been part of this but what have we accomplished for the Lord? It was great food and fellowship, but did any of it permanently change a person’s life? There could have been some evidence of a change made but was it on the inside or the outside? Only God, by His Spirit, can change a person from the inside out. He begins His work at the right time at the right place and works at His pace. Everything in His time! Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven”. Again in verse 11— “He has made everything beautiful in His time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.” Verse 14 of that same chapter tells us whatever God does, it shall be forever, and nothing can be added to it and nothing taken away from it. God does it so that men should fear (respect) Him. (The difference being when we do it, we are looking for some ulterior reason.) Verse 20 of Isaiah 26 gives it to us pretty straight forward. Just come into your chambers and shut the door behind you! Reminds me of the verse Hebrews 4:10, “for he who has entered His rest (has come into his chamber and shut the door) has himself also ceased from his works (programs, etc.) as God did from His”. (Parentheses mine)
It takes time and effort. Time is one thing we have plenty of but the effort is another thing. We don’t like to do that. We really need Him to help us with effort but that is what He is for. He has given us patience; we just need to use it. We are none short of it; we just don’t like to use it. If we would just spend the time He has given us to enrich our relationship with Him, the patience would be there. 2 Peter 1:5-11
Nothing is hidden that can’t be found. God knows it all sees it all and will take care of it all. We are only to praise Him and allow His Glory to shine through us; nothing more and nothing less. All the gifts are there and they will be manifested as we draw near to Him, including patience!!
So we ask, how do we accomplish this intimacy with Him? I have found the easiest way is to obey His commandments. NO, NO, not the famous Ten that we have tried so hard for so long to obey without any victory but the two that Jesus gave us, “love the Lord thy God with all your heart and love thy neighbor as thy self.” I have found that as I love my neighbor my love for Him increases. He seems to multiply the love back to me and I am able to love even more unconditionally. It is amazing what happens when we obey the laws that are written on our hearts! Loving our neighbor fulfills the law. (Galatians 5:15 and Romans 3:8) We are able to love because He first loved us. (1st John 4:10) Jesus has fulfilled the law (Luke 24:44) and as we abide in Him, John 15:4-5, the requirement of the law is fulfilled in us (Romans 8:4). It is truly written in our hearts and it all points to Him. We learn that whatever doesn’t glorify Him and edify His Body (neighbors, etc.) must be avoided. (1st Corinthians 10:32) We all know what we must do. This is the NEW COVENANT (Jeremiah 31:33). This is the life of the Spirit within. It is only with His power and authority that we can do it!
I have accepted the Ten Commandments as a promise. For an example read them this way: When you come into the land I have promised you, the land of milk and honey you shall not have any other Gods before me, you shall not bow down to them, you shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, you shall remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, you shall honor your father and mother and on and on. The word shall means you won’t have a choice in the matter. And, as you that are seeking the Lord, know you lose all your desire to do the things He says you shall not do and to do the things He says you shall do! HE will see to it by HIS Spirit as you have acknowledged who you really are; A body of flesh with His Spirit inside of you. All that He has promised you would do will come as natural for you as the forbidden things were before you acknowledged the Lord in your life.
We have “prophets” telling us how to survive the end times! My question would be; where or when are these end times going to start? We have been seeing the signs for as long as I can remember and nothing has happened. We just keep living as we did. No progress or growth in the spirit and certainly none in the organized church. I suppose more people are going to church in this day but what for? They are looking for something that is inside of them and no one tells them to look inside. Just “be good” and all will be fine is what they are told, “We will get to Heaven someday and what a glorious time that will be.” I mean, the small group that believes the way that particular group tells them will make it! (Everyone has his own way.) There is so much more if we will listen to our hearts and do what HE says to do! Scripture tells us to do what is in YOUR heart. (2nd Samuel 7:3 He is talking to a King but has He not made us Kings and Priests?) He doesn’t say do what is in the pastor’s heart but in YOUR heart. Trust your heart because that is the part that God dwells in.
Another question I would have is—why is the prophet’s message the same as the Word tells us? I can read all they have said right in scripture for myself. We know what is going to happen but when? The “Day of the Lord” or “That Day” or “in those days” was spoken about many times in the old covenant. What if these many times the Lord referred to these days happened about 2000 years ago? What if when Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected was the beginning of a NEW Covenant? What if that is when the “LAST DAYS” started? The whole world changed that day, some 2000 years ago. All that Jesus said began to happen. (Matthew 24) Jesus told the disciples what to expect, describing it all down to every detail, so that after His crucifixion they would not be surprised. Jeremiah 31:33 tells us that God said He would write the laws in their hearts, or their inner beings after “those days.” Verse 34 tells us all will know Him from the least to the greatest and He would forgive their iniquities and not remember their sin ever more. Just in case the reader might think He was talking only to Israel let me remind you of John 10:16. “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; THEM ALSO I must bring and they will hear my voice and there will be one flock and one shepherd.” I believe He was referring to the gentiles. That would make Him God of ALL, not of just a few. He did say they WOULD hear His voice. That doesn’t give us much choice in the decision. When the time is right, no matter whom you are, where you are or what you are doing, YOU WILL HEAR HIS VOICE! John 3:17 tells us that He didn’t come to condemn the world, but to save it. We are only condemned by our own hearts and that is because we love darkness (ignorance) rather than light (understanding)! Every man has his “until” day, the day God reaches into his soul and turns on a light and he realizes there is more to life than himself. Once we hear His voice and obey, the darkness leaves as the light is turned on.
Obeying the Law and the shedding of blood, in the Old Testament, was the only way to know and please God. That is what they thought anyway! Elohim tried to tell them they were His special people and they were to be used to tell the world about Him but they couldn’t grasp the Light. They, therefore, turned to something easier to do, and God turned away from them (Jeremiah 31:35). Following man’s instructions they tried to satisfy God by “works.” Does that sound familiar? No, we don’t shed blood anymore but we sure believe in “works!” Somewhere along the line the church started teaching that Jesus shed the blood but we have to work if we want to make points with God! (Crowns) What an untruth! I know from experience, it is easier to do something for Him than to become like Him, but He does the latter just because He loves us! Why can’t we believe that? We need to learn to rest in Him and learn who He is. He is God and will have His way with each of us if all we do is sit. He is big enough to overcome any obstacle we put in His way!
Jesus said “I am the Way and no one comes to the Father but by me.” Just what does that mean? I think it means there is NOTHING we can do to get to God; He opened the door on the “Lord’s Day” some two thousand years ago, and has never closed it or recalled the death of Jesus and promises not to ever close it. We are free to come to Him boldly and ask what we will and find mercy and grace to help us in the time of need. What more could we ask? The confession we are to hold fast to is that Jesus is Lord and all the works was finished from the foundation of the world! God has it all prepared for us if we can only believe in His Goodness. Shedding of blood or works can never do anything for our salvation. He loves us as much today as He ever has or ever will. That is good news, my Friends!
Since I am on a roll about Good News let me share more of the same! All sins committed under the Law have been forgiven! And, yes, Paul says we have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Let’s turn to Romans 3:23 and see what sin he was referring to. “For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.” What is “sin?” Coming short of the Glory of God! God’s glory is His standard His standard is His nature or character. Jesus was here and demonstrated God’s character and Jesus said to imitate Him. He never did anything unless He saw His Father do it and never said anything unless He heard His Father say it. What a man! That is right—we none have lived up to that standard. He has given us commandment to do it. We have fallen so short that it must break His heart every time He thinks of the opportunities He has afforded us. The good news of this is that we have been justified by His grace through the redemption through Jesus Christ! Is that not Good News? In His forbearance (patience) God has passed over the unbelief we previously lived with. He has done this to demonstrate His righteousness toward us and be justifier of the one who has faith in what Jesus did. He has even sent the Holy Spirit to teach us, yet we fail! You know what I believe? I believe we try too hard. Jesus said it was easy. He simply walked what He believed and was THE overcomer. We can, to if we are willing to quit trying to do it ourselves and learn who we are in Him. Frank and I have been learning to “Just Be” and life has become more blessed than when we were trying to work so hard to please Him. We are learning to be ourselves and let God be God! He is big enough to keep us straight and we need not worry about things so much. Most of us live a life style of worry but there is no need for it. He bears all things for all people if they will let Him! He has strong, broad shoulders!
He says He has written His laws in our hearts. If this is true and it is, why is life so hard for us because He also said for us to think on things that are above? Do we do that? NO! Not most of the time anyway. When we keep our minds on Him things go fine but we slip away and things get tough and we try to work them out on our own. He hasn’t moved but until we decide to move back to where we left Him, He waits on us. When we make up our minds that we will do things our way, He lets us have our way because He knows we will be back soon. He never gives up on us. The “works” we have to do is to keep our priorities right. Spend time with Him and get His thoughts on any situation we might have. He has all the solutions to every problem there is. We need to trust Him and know that we are His Child. He has given us all we need to live in His Grace (1 John 2:20).
All humanity are children of the living God! When we say all humanity we are usually thinking flesh. Is there not more to us than this flesh? There is a Spirit inside and that means there is eternal life inside! What does that mean? God formed this flesh but He created the Spirit inside of this flesh and that is what He is calling “My Child.” That created Spirit is who was created in eternity and then man was formed. See Genesis 2:7 He blew Himself into that form and the form became a living SOUL. Without the Spirit we can’t even move. (We are like a deflated balloon). The Word (Spirit) became flesh, the flesh didn’t become spirit. All humanity is a child of God because everything that was made was made through Him. In Him was life and the Life was the light of men. John 1:1-4
This flesh is not even our own. It even belongs to God so He has a claim on our flesh, our spirit, our whole being! Everything is a part of God—in the beginning God created the earth.....God spoke and there was. After the earth was created everything else came out of it (Genesis 2:5). The Earth came out of His Word (Genesis 1). That makes everything a part of God. Think about it. God is everywhere.
Think about God’s preparation and supply for us the next time you hear “I am a sinner saved by grace.” His is the life inside of you and He can’t sin. You are not a sinner if you believe that He is inside of you because if you have Him you cannot sin. Follow me for awhile on this. In 1st John 3: 8, 9, John is talking about the devil. The devil, as I see it, is no more than the natural mind of man; the enemy of God. Let’s read these verses using “natural mind” instead of devil and see how it goes. Verse 8—He who sins is of the natural mind, for the natural mind has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the natural mind. Verse 9—whoever has been born of God does not sin, for HIS seed remains in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. Who, that has ever been born has not come from God? NO ONE! Now you say that the people in the Old Testament or the ones before Jesus was born sinned. Yes, but only because they didn’t believe God was who He said He was. That is the only sin they or we ever committed! We have never been separated from God except in our own natural minds. God has promised never to leave us or forsake us.
The meaning of the word repent is to change ones mind or to turn away from something. When we turn away from our own thinking and put on the mind of Christ we have repented or turned away from the sin of disbelief and we realize we have been saved all along, for 2000 +/- years. Actually, ever since the beginning! Think about Paul on the road to Damascus. When he heard the voice of God, he had a mind change. He did not go to a Priest or any man. He went to God to find out what had happened. He had a change of belief, a repenting and a turning away from his natural thoughts and took on God’s thoughts.
You know, the world is looking for this wonderful life we have been promised. It is there for everyone. If they can only believe who they are and that God is their Father. They are not of this world and the cares of this world shouldn’t be destroying them. This Good News goes on and on. The more we discover about our heavenly Father, the more good news is discovered. It just doesn’t stop.
The way to find this exciting life that is within us is to spend time meditating on Him. Think on things above not of earthly things. Philippians4:4— “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say rejoice.” Philippians 4:8—“Finally, Brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy---meditate on these things.” And verse 19—And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.” When people in our world see us practicing this; then and only then will they want what we have without us saying a word. We will be able to rest in Him for all our needs and life will be so easy to live. No more striving to be good. Jesus, the best person that ever lived on this earth, even said that no one was good but His Father! Who are we that we think we can beat that!
You know what the world is looking for? The same thing we were all looking for when He came flowing into our lives; Love, mercy, grace and acceptance. That is what gives us the happiness that we look for. If we who know this should start giving to others what He has given to us more would come to Him sooner. Walking the talk is much more productive than preaching! The church meetings are very good fellowship, don’t get me wrong! But let’s not forget that He is inside of us and we need to walk with Him daily and let our lives be a witness for Him to the world.
The “After those days,” the “End times” we spoke about earlier have been around since the world witnessed the cross. The veil over the mind of man, as well as the one in the temple was rent and we were able to see into the Kingdom of God! As Holy Spirit has fallen on individuals since that day, understanding has come and we have realized that man has never been separated from God except in our minds. He has never left us and never will. We came out of Him and will return to Him. He has a plan to accomplish this task and HE is working it. Nothing can stop Him in spite of how we try to do our own thing.
One man is changing the world and His name is Christ or the Body of Christ or the Believers united into that one Body of the Kingdom of God. HE is calling us the Temple built by His Spirit and not by man’s hand. Jesus being the chief corner stone and the rest of God’s people being the building stones. “In whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:21, 22.
His promise in Isaiah 26:19 is being fulfilled and we can’t stop the work. Those who are or ever were “dead men walking” will live again. If we can rest in that one promise alone, these “end times” will not seem so bad and He shortens the days for the elect’s sake. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. (Ephesians 3:20, 21) The “power” in us being the Holy Spirit or God Himself takes the work out of our hands and gives it all to Him! We can rest from our works at last! I want you to see something else to. It is for ALL generations to come! He is no respecter of persons! See what I mean when I say it gets better and better?
Fulfilling His promises is no problem to God. You see, He knows His Laws are written on our hearts and all He has to do is re-awaken us to reality. We might have a problem because our hearts condemn us and we have to forgive ourselves. A Methodist Pastor told me that one time and those words “forgive you because He has already forgiven you” re-lit the Light within me! That is all it took, a few words at the right time! (God is SO good.) I had tried so hard to be good and never thought I could be good enough to approach Him. I was right. I could never be that good in myself but GOD. He saw my heart and sent the right person to speak to me at the right time! Jesus, the “goodest” person ever born told the disciples that no one was good except God. Matthew 19:17 says So, He said to them, “why do you call Me good? No one is good but one, that is God, but if you want to enter into life keep His commandments.” Then He spoke about the Ten Commandments that were the Law to be kept until He fulfilled them.
God surveyed all He had made at creation and said it was very good. That even included the entire human race. That included all that man represents. How can we improve on what He has done? There is no way. God has shown His Love for us by sending His only begotten Son who didn’t come to condemn the world but to show and demonstrate the Love of the Father throughout all eternity.
Matthew 1:28-30 gives us instructions to follow. He has made it so easy. He says, “Come unto Me ALL who are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take MY yoke upon you and learn (by watching me) from Me, For I am gentle (meek) and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls (mind, emotions, and will) for MY yoke is easy and my burden light”
As for the fulfilling of the law, go to Romans 13:10. “Love does no harm to a neighbor: therefore LOVE is the fulfillment of the Law”.
