                                                                  IF GOD WASN’T GOD

Not long ago, I heard a gentleman who said something that grabbed my Spirit! It was awesome! He said a lot; but you know how you can hear something and then you can HEAR something! That’s what happened. I was driving along listening to a CD and all of a sudden I heard this statement. “God is not going to do something and He is not doing something but He has already done everything there is to do”!

We find ourselves saying all the time that God is getting ready to do something or He is about to do something or He is doing something. But if we would only think about it we might ask the question “What is there left to do?” He has already done it all. The old covenant (if you read it along with the new covenant) is a testimony of what He did BEFORE the earth was ever formed and filled with His manifested life. He did it all in the spirit world and then spoke it into the natural realm. Nothing has ever happened that hasn’t happened before. Ecclesiastes 1:9-10—That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which it may be said, “See, this is new?” It has already been in ancient times before us.” That thought is so awesome I just have to take a minute to let it sink into my mind every time I think about it!

This truth is so abstruse I find it almost absurd! If God wasn’t God, it couldn’t possibly be! For those who are doubting this truth right now, just answer this question for me. How does He know the end from the beginning? If it wasn’t done how could He tell us in scripture that He knows our end? He IS the author and finisher of our faith, right? He is the beginning and the end. If He is the end then He has already seen what the end is. He knows how all of us will end! He is our Ever-loving Father and He has prepared the best for us.

Isaiah 46:10 tells us He is “declaring the end from the beginning”. When was the beginning? Who knows but our God, who is from everlasting to everlasting. The All-Wise One! It certainly wasn’t at the time of Genesis. God existed many eternities before then. Bible scholars will say the earth is 6000 years old. Many will tell you now that they can’t really determine how old the earth is. Another question we could ask would be how long before the end? Again He is the only one who knows. The end will come as a thief in the night and we should be looking for it to happen, but there is no one who knows when or how. Things have been pointed out in scripture by a lot of people but it is all speculation. He said no man will know but to beware of false prophets

I sometimes think on how an architect will have a thought in his head, put it on paper and then draw it out to the spec of his vision. When the contractor starts to build he has everything in his hands that he needs for the completion of the architects vision. God is the great architect that had a vision and also the carpenter that built His house. He saw it all and finished it to the perfection of His heart. Remember, God is Spirit so this House was already built in the Kingdom of God before it was planted on the earth. I don’t know about your bible but mine says that God formed man and then made the garden and placed Man in it! (Genesis 2:4-9) I read that He first restored the planet earth and then made Man out of the dust of the ground and then planted a garden eastward in Eden and there He put the man He had formed. (This is contrary to all Sunday school had taught me through the years.) God planned His House a long time before Genesis.

This may sound absolutely absurd to you, but I think  He planned to restore the earth to a natural state for natural man. He planned His Spiritual House for the spirit Man to live in as His Sons. He made earth for the physical man. The Garden was for habitation of the Spirit man. He supplied all the food for the natural man and then supplied all the food and care for the spirit man. When the man of flesh ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he was telling God that he didn’t trust Him to take care of him. That was a part of God’s plan because He had already provided a place for man and the way back too Him. Remember the earth He had restored? The Word also tells us that Jesus was crucified before the beginning. God was ready!  (Ephesians 1: 3-14 says so clearly what He had in mind from the beginning of eternity) The bible is like a blue print from God usward so we might know our future. It is not written only to believers as I was taught but to the world so all would know! Whosoever will—! Paul emphasizes that we trust and then believe, not the other way around. Trust brings belief.

The point I am making is that God has finished doing and is now resting! We are living in His seventh day. He sees what He has done and says it is good! He is satisfied with all things. He knows the end from the beginning. He also knows what we have to go through to arrive.

Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before hand (before we were created in Christ Jesus) that we should walk in them” Is that not awesome? He is not going before us to prepare the way, He has gone before us and the way has been prepared. He is not doing anything. He has done it all and is now resting. Genesis 2:2— “on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done and He rested  on the seventh day from all the works which He had done, v.3—then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.” He has never called a halt to that seventh day. We are still living in it. This seventh day is not referring to our Sunday or Sabbath or day of rest that we have created, but to a spiritual seventh day. Our day of rest comes to an end and we continue our lives as before. God’s day of rest never stops. We will live in it for eternity with Him if we can “see” with our spirit eyes.                                    We really live two lives on this earth. We made a natural life for ourselves which we live from day to day and then we have the spirit life God has made for us. The trick is to have our priorities in order and allow our spirit life to come first to direct our natural life. We succeed in doing this some of the time but we don’t much like the sacrifice it takes. Therefore our lives in the natural become like a living hell and we blame it on God! If we would just rest with Him in all things life would be a lot better. When we can find ourselves “resting” from the “works’ we have made, then we will find the “REST” He has made for us through the Cross!

Remember He said we were raised with HIM when He was raised from the grave? Ephesians 2: 4-6 Well, if we were raised with Him we are with Him NOW. We are seated in Heavenly places with Him, not here in this place we call the world. Jesus believes this and He is resting in the faith of His Father that He will do ALL He has promised. We will (our Spirit) return to Father and this flesh will be no more! Get excited! Our end will be glorious!  If you can believe this while in this covering of flesh then God will be glorified through you but if you can’t— that is another story. I believe there will come a day when EVERY knee will bow to the glory of the Father and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord! You might go through some more hell before you can do this but your day will come. God said it. It makes no difference if you believe it or not. Jesus did not die for a few special people; He died for the whole world and gave us the ministry of reconciling others back to Him by living the Word. Yes, by example not by works.

Back to the Day of Rest.  After many years of thinking Sunday was THE day of the Lord and all I had to do was go to church and then rest, I came to a new realization. That is a law made by man. It is bondage and Father has called us out of bondage into freedom. His Grace is the rest we are to live in, not man’s opinion. Our everyday lives are the seventh day. It never ends. We are constantly in the day of rest. Hebrews 4 is a favorite chapter for me. I have to read it every so often to remind myself I don’t have to worry about things. He is in total control of my life and its happenings.

It is fine to use the day we call Sunday as your day of rest from your physical job but it is still as any other day. Did you ever think about those that call Sunday THE day of rest going out to dinner and making others work? Or paying the Pastor to work on the day that HE preaches about being the day of rest? Something is wrong with that picture.

We should never get under bondage to anyone. The one we are under bondage to become our idol. We can only afford to give ourselves to Father and to be His servant. That is the only freedom we have. Go to work and be faithful but do it as unto the Lord not to the boss! We have to let this mind be in us as it was in Christ Jesus, who being in the FORM of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God. Philippians 2:5, 6.  As you read on through verse 13 you will find that we work out our own salvation just as Jesus did in the preceding verses. When we can realize we are in the form of God then we can say we are equal to God. If we are equal to   God (but NOT God) then we can do all things through Jesus’ testimony that gives us strength to overcome. As He was, so are we! We have the same power working in us as He did as He walked this earth. He made it back to Father and we will also. That is a promise. We can walk in all He has ordained for us to walk in or we can be pulled through the proverbial key-hole is going to happen in spite of our teachings, doctrines or laws that we make for our convenience.

As it is written “Eyes (human eyes) has not seen, nor ears (human ears) heard, nor have entered into the heart (soul) of man the things God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1st Corinthians. You will find this verse prophesied by Isaiah in chapter 65 verse 17.  “For since the beginning of the world (men) have never heard, nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides you, who acts for the one who waits for Him”.

My thought is that it would behoove us all to wait for Him and love Him; which means to believe He was, is and forever will be.

Paul wrote to the Corinthians about what God said “He had done from the beginning.” Genesis 1. He was confirming what Isaiah had prophesied to us about what God had already done. (Remember two or more witnesses?)  Dear Ones, it has already been finished by God Himself. Jesus finished what He was sent to do. He revealed God to the world and how to work out our own salvation. Not to be “saved” for Father had already seen to that. We learn who we are and walk in that knowledge. That is how we will walk in the ministry of reconciliation that we have been given. All the rest is to help us to walk in Him and to mature us to the point of Glorifying HIM. When will that ever be? I don’t know, only He knows. Let’s leave that with Him and take care of what we are supposed to be doing. We can learn to trust and love Him

God has written the script from beginning to end and knows what the outcome will be. He is watching the stage of life to see what we will do with the character He has given each of us. Are we willing to go along with His script He has given us or will we try to write our own and ask Him to bless it? He will bring it all to perfection whether we co-operate or not. Life is just easier if we do what we need to do.

Get close to Him and live to glorify Him in your world. He knows your beginning and end. Could you be in any better hands? Is God, God or not?
