The Son of Perdition referred to in John 17:12 is not merely a human but someone with a desire to destroy someone or something.  The meanings of the word perdition are destruction or destroy. We would need to call a person who is always trying to destroy another person’s character, a son of perdition. It is someone who is consumed with the desire to bring someone down for a profit or to better themselves. For example, spreading gossip or talking bad about another. That is in our day. In bible days it would have been someone reporting to the authorities the whereabouts of a Christian. Many people, including the Jews helped the Romans find Jews that had been converted to the teachings of Jesus and the Romans would pay them for the information leading to the arrest of the man. When the Roman government took over in Israel and surrounding area the Jews were persecuted and killed. It was hard for them to make a living so they had to resort to giving information for money. Paul was doing that when he saw the Lord. Lost in   John 17:12 is not speaking about someone being sent to hell but the body being destroyed.

When Judas understood what he had done to Jesus, he committed suicide. Jesus didn’t have anything to do with the death. Judas saw that he had destroyed Jesus’ life and went out and hung himself. He was wrong of course. It was all a part pf the big picture. God had a plan and part of that plan was to have Jesus crucified. Judas received forty pieces of gold and silver for the information he had given to the soldiers and they wouldn’t take it back so out of guilt and shame Judas killed himself. He had become a son of perdition, a destroyer, and fruit of the evil plan of the Romans.

Are you aware that we in our carnal minds are ALL sons of perdition? That is a very scary thought. Think about it!

Our soul (mind, emotions and will) is very busy trying to destroy our Spirit! Every time our Spirit hears a new truth our minds will tell us it can’t be true. It is not what my church believes, my Pastor doesn’t teach that, it is not scriptural and it goes on and on. Is this not the way it works for you? I sure have experience it often.

There is only one way we can stop the destroyer and that is to put on the mind of Christ. By allowing the Holy Spirit to tear away the veil that keeps us in the box of religion and thinking with our carnal minds. This is the war that is going on within you. The soul is fighting the Spirit. We as humans don’t realize who we are and the soul does know who we are. Soul will use our intellect and will to keep us from getting out of the box. This war will keep us from realizing who we are. Because we don’t know who we are, the amount of truth we receive from Father will be limited.

The soul will keep you in a box and cause you to fear other people’s opinions and deceive you to fear God Himself. The soul will keep you from putting on the mind of Christ. We are to think like Christ and He didn’t think it wrong to think He was equal to God. Can we say that to ourselves and believe it? As soon as you do, if the veil is still there, you will feel prideful and guilty. How dare we think we are as good as Jesus much less God Himself? That is a big load to take at once but you will get there if you get out of the box. Break free from another man’s wrong thinking. Breaking loose from all that binds us to the world’s way of thinking will get us out of the box of religion. That box is not the church. If you are in a church stay until He tells you to get out, but think for yourself! That box is our own perception of who we are and who God is!

If you are still thinking the son of perdition is the devil, you need to take a second look at scripture. The adversary as Jesus knew him has lost all his power. Jesus destroyed the works of the devil at the cross! Hebrews 2:14,15 and 1 John 3:8 —“For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” 1 John 3:8— “He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” Verse nine goes on too say that “whosoever is born of God does not commit sin.”  This is where we have to know who we are. We are a child of God. We cannot commit sin anymore. The flesh might miss the mark but it is because of our soul wanting its own way as the son of perdition. He is not the enemy any more! The devil is not our enemy anymore.  Our enemy is our minds and our imagination. We have been taught so long that the devil is in a power struggle with God, we just hope God wins. We don’t know but perhaps He will. That is foolishness! God “won” on the cross! The reason we can’t believe is we don’t know who we are!  (Suggest re-reading Franks booklet “Identity Quagmire) We need to “hear” what the Spirit is saying to the church! Stop listening to what “they” in the world are saying. .

We need to change our thinking about who we are and have always been, from before the foundation of the world! God didn’t change His feelings toward us, we changed. Hear God saying one more time, “You are my Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased!”   There, doesn’t that feel good? Don’t let anyone tell you any different. You are and have always been His son. He chose you before the foundation of the world and prepared you for the good works He has called you to.

We are not some beaten down sinner who hopes we can please Him and make it to heaven someday! Thinking that way some will have a hard time making it! Is that you or someone whom you love? God has promised that ALL will be saved! He is ALL in ALL and He will have His way! Get out of the box and dare to believe. Don’t let the son of perdition destroy your relationship with your Father.

Sometimes we miss the mark of the high calling of God but that is not the devil making your flesh do it! (Your spirit, the real you cannot miss the mark)  We blame it on the one who has no power but it is the soul, the son of perdition. If we have the mind of Christ, and are walking in the Spirit, the soul or the man of perdition can’t touch us!

Let me assure you of something here that is VERY important. God’s Love is free! He is love and if we can believe we came out of Him then that tells me we are love! That makes me tremble! There is nothing you can do that will cause Him to reject you, NOTHING!!  Our flesh can miss the mark but Father says keep on keeping on because He forgave all on the cross! He has prepared the way for us to succeed and our soul will try to destroy what is truth. Remember, the flesh will go back to dust from whence it came and His Spirit will go back to HIM from whence it came, when He is through with them here on the earth!

The “devil” does not make me miss the mark of the high calling of God but my soul, (my emotions and my will) The son of perdition; the destroyer of all that is of God, is the REAL culprit. If you feel as though a war is going on, you are right. Our soul and spirit is always trying to have their own way. The battle written about in revelations is happening NOW! The son of perdition that has always ruled does not want to give up its authority but remember, the flesh is weak but the spirit is strong. We know who wins; it is just a matter of not giving up! He is faithful to finish the good work He started in us until that day! What day? The day we are complete in Him!!

I know this will bring about a new way of life and thinking for those who want to go on with the Lord. This is something that you must decide for yourself. You have a choice. You don’t have a choice of going back to the Father and confessing Jesus is Lord but you can do it His way or your way! Make the choice to get out of the box of religion and move into the freedom that Jesus gave us. You will find that walk will be much easier than what you are doing now! Believe me, I have been there and done that and thought I was having fun, it was not as exciting as this way has been!

I can’t close this without telling you what He has spoken to me while writing this.

As we go on beyond the cross the voice of God will speak out of our spirit and we will “hear.” We will find reading the word is good but sitting before Him at His feet is even better. There is so much more He wants to bring to our remembrance as we start believing Him. There is no end in God so if you believe that you have it all together, you need to think again! He has great things to tell us that no one has ever heard.

Just being is the only way I can describe the experience that I am talking about. Stop trying to figure everything out and accept what you hear from your spirit as His voice. Don’t be afraid of deception, He is big enough to keep you from yourself. If you doubt it just question HIM and He will help you. He loves you. There are no words to describe what it is like trusting Him and knowing He knows all things. You can only experience the peace and rest for yourself. My advice for what it is worth? Try it, you will like it!!

There is no limit to what He wants to discuss with us. We limit Him with our perception that the bible is the only way He can communicate with us. We have been taught to check out everything with the bible first before we make any kind of decision and then it has to be agreed to by at least two people. We did that as a child but now we can put away childish things and depend on His voice for answers (1 John 2.27). He can speak out of the word but He really wants us to depend on His voice. Otherwise, why did He say, “My sheep hear MY VOICE.”  There is a time when we put away childish things and start walking with Him by faith. I have found out that the bible is not the last word. Holy Spirit used man and the bible to lead me to Him but now He speaks to me out of my spirit and through fellowship with Him. He is no longer speaking by His prophets but is now speaking through His Son, who is the Spirit within us (Hebrews 1:1, 2).

He has chosen to live in me and I in Him, the two became one! Hallelujah! What a wonderful promise we have. To know the creator of the universe has chosen us to dwell and abide in. This body of flesh is corruptible and the incorruptible is now using it as His temple! That is almost impossible to get my mind wrapped around! Beyond measure is His love for us. MY question is, “My God, My God, who am I that you would do this?” And His answer comes right back “You are My Beloved that I am well pleased with and I am comfortable here with you. I call you my Friend as well as My child.”

All of you reading this writing are as special as I am to our Father. He could not feel anything more or less for any one of us. He is not a respecter of persons. Jesus was His first-born but many were to follow. Jesus has made a way for us to approach Him boldly. Don’t come begging and pleading for Him to do all that He has already done for us. Just come boldly thanking and praising Him.

Don’t let the son of perdition (mind, will and emotions) destroy what Jesus died for. Come out of the box of religious tradition. It won’t be easy. He never said it would be. Look how He suffered, and we have to suffer as He did. But He took the heavy burden and made it easier for us. His burden is light and He will never leave us. He will be our strength in the times we need it and He is ever faithful. Just trust and obey, there is no other way.

Remember, if you dare to take a step away from being controlled by the destroyer, you will need to: 1. Spend time with Him: 2. Live simply as He leads you: 3: Love generously as He does: 4: Be accountable to Him for your actions and 5: Remember someone is watching you and learning.

We are not referring to mind over matter in the walking out of what Father has in store for us. This way of living is strictly an operation of the Spirit within each of our lives and has nothing whatever to do with how we attempt to “no smoke, not chew or run with those that do.” As Barbara said, it is a matter of just ‘being’ to allow Holy Spirit to speak to you concerning your day to day activities. As long as I was in the religious box, it was important that I maintained a certain semblance of decorum in keeping with what the leadership required of me. That was and is bondage to the highest degree. The only true freedom available to anyone is the freedom offered by Holy Spirit. It is beyond comprehension to know that Father loves  me enough to allow me to miss the mark and still not condemn me to an eternal fire which is really not scriptural but a figment of Dante’s imagination. The image-nation is the largest and most powerful nation on earth governing natural things. Thank god that Father is bigger and more powerful than anything that we can imagine or think.
